hi guys , I'm new to this game , but not new to strategy games , I used to play Tribal Wars , which is a game founded by Inno Games .

In Tribal wars we had "Nukes" . a Nuke was two types , offensive and defensive , it was simply a town , full of soldiers of the same type , say : 14000 Archers and 1000 Calvary (Defensive) , which makes the town hard to beat and as strong as possible .

My Question is , Is there Nukes in Grepolis ? and what are the perfect ones ?

:heh: :heh: :heh:

my regards to everyone .

The ideal offensive nuke would be either all horsemen, all slingers, or all hoplites (less often all hoplites, because they have a low attacks), and the perfectly mixed defense is 28:11:25 in swordsmen:archers:hoplites

Thanks , but .. How many horsemen ? and isn't just 28 swordsmen and 11 archers too few ?

That is the ratio of defensive soldiers.
And you can generally fit ~2500 population of troops into a city, so if you had a few LS to escort transports and some transports, then I would say 5 to 600 horses, ~1500 slingers

(SW)Perfect Nuke(SW)
200 Amount of Slings
300 Amount of Horses (FS 900)
10 Amount of Catapults (FS 150)
80 Amount of LS(FS 800)
63 Required amount of Transports(FS 441)
2491/3000 Total Farm Space Used
509/3000 unused
or 1029/3520 w/ Thermal & Plow

Also

200 Slinger
200 Hoplite
150-200 Horsemen

150 Light ships

Or:

450 Slingers
450 Horses
Enough Transports
30 LS

For information on Pure Nukes, check out This Guide

Taken from The Grepolis Guide, you can find more tactics: Here

Pure nukes (in defense or offense) are superior if you know what is coming, but the ratios I gave are ideal for equivalent populations of slingers, horses, or hoplites, but I have not run the calculations on the ideal offensive nuke against an unknown target.

30 LS

Should do the trick to anything that isn't supported

anybody who says they know the perfect nuke is either lying or deluded :p

the most effective nuke will a pure nuke in whichever area of defence your enemy has a relative weakness in (i.e. taking into account the relative attack strength ofthe attacking troops). if your opponent has a perfectly balanced defence then the composition of your nuke makes NO difference whatsoever, the population will be the only factor.

of course you don't always know what defence your enemy has, so you may want to make a mixed nuke, in which case i usually just build whatever i have the resources for since the best nuke is one which is built, ready and waiting in your city, and not one which is under construction. the faster you build your nukes the more often you can send them out!

no such thing as a perfect defense against all units, you just have to pick and choose which units to be perfect against ;)

The perfect army = Chuck Norris :O

Lol, nah, I don't know to be honest. I think it varies for all.

i agree completely. the perfect defence would be only swords if your enemy is sending a sling nuke over land, but pure swords defence would be terrible against a hoplite nuke.

the only difference is that on defence you can get a perfectly balanced defence (although this is not the perfect defence against any nuke in particular, or at all) whereas you can't really do that on attack. not in any way that immediately springs to my mind at least :D

what, mythical creatures? check out the Mythical unit portions of Cobble's guide
Overview here, stats here Mythical units aren't really all that great, a few have good stats, but the favor cost makes it hard to build up nukes of them, unless you have multiple people concentrate all teh myth units that they can build into one city.
and what about ships too ?
Ships are a lot simpler. There is only one type of effective offensive unit and one (some would say two) defensive. Light Ships are the offensive unit, Biremes the defensive. They have exactly the same attack or defense per population. You just put as many in one attack or defense as possible.
Some people argue for the use of Fire Ships, which, although sometimes more efficient than Biremes, do not attack transports or Colony Ships, and can't attack (Fire Ships kill one ship each). They also fight after the biremes or any other naval defense, so they do not save any Biremes that there may be in the city. Triremes are reasonable in defense, and a bit worse in offense, and really slow. They make reasonable C-Ship escorts. Hydras are one of Poseidon's mythical units, it is as good in attack as Light Ships, and not quite as good as a bireme, but it is also really slow, so it is best as a C-Ship escort.

just to add to the shortcomings of fire ships, they don't attack hydras either, they only sink LS, biremes and triremes.

well, at least that makes sense, because 5 population for 50 population? That would just be ridiculous.

fireships take 8 farm spaces, but i get what you're saying and agree with you completely ;)

really? I thought it was less then Biremes took up :S I guess they really aren't all that much better than Biremes, even though FS are cheaper and quicker (to build) then Biremes
