Special buildings: Thermal baths vs Theater.

Regarding the Theater and the Thermal baths.

(All of this is a discussion for ONE aditional city, if you manage to keep the theater longer, the more you save.)

Isnt it worth getting the theather up early, and just try to get as high culture as possible, and when your starting to get the wibes of "War" coming your way, you destroy it and start constructing a Thermal bath.

if you do 3 theater plays, you have saved more money on it then you wouldv spent on City festivals. And by theese means you can remain "unnoticed", Since you will not need to fight anyone at all, and you can just bolster defensive units instead of a mixture.

Themal baths costs 8100 wood, 5400 stone and 8100 silver. Thats 21600 resources.
Theater costs 7200 wood, 7200 stone and 7200 Silver, wich also is 21600 resources.

City festival costs 15 000 wood, 18 000 stone, and 15 000 silver, ( For this, you will need a Warehouse level of atleast 23, ( Uppgraded!! )) wich is
48 000 resources. 48 000 x3 ( you will need 3 for an aditional city ) is 144 000.

Theater plays costs 10 000, 12 000, 10 000. Wich is 32 000 resources. for an Aditional city that will total up to 96 000 resources. ( + 21600 for theater, wich is 117 600 )

So if you want to quickly rush an aditional city, ( and destroying the theater afterwards )
You will save 26 400 resources.

regarding unit trading with allies for Combat points.

Cheapest unit is Swordsmen.
1 CulturePoint = 300 swords.
300 swords is 28 500 Wood and 25 500 silver. wich is 54 000 without counting transports.

Non uppgraded, you will need 15 Transports to carry 300 swordsmen.

That's 21 000 resources there.
3x(21 000 + 54 000 )
63 000+162 000 = 225 000.

So there are 3 options:

Teather, 1 expansion = 117 600 ( This is if we tear down the theater after we've gotten 3 cultural points, keep in mind you will loose 1 if you tear down that Theater, Also you will want some extra resources for the new building. )
City festivals. 1 expansion = 144 000
Unit trading with member
1 Expansion = 225 000

That is certainly a different way of looking at things. There has not been much said on these forums on coloniser strategies.

It seems you may not be aware that 3 culture points are only for the third city. The number increases by 3 for each successive culture level. That is you need an additional 6 culture points for your fourth city (total 9), 9 for your fifth (total 18) etc.

One thing you have not factored in is time. When conflict arises, you will need days to demolish the theatre, build the baths and train the extra 300 troops. This will not help you if the colony ship is already on it's way.

For many people the city festival is more a way of not letting their warehouses overflow when they have a fully built city and troops fully trained. Under these circumstances the amount of resources is of little consequence.

This is more concidering to be a stepping stone, and I have only played on a revolt server sofar, and with a good alliance, you will have atleast 12 hours to prepare for the colonyship, and to get allied troups rallied and so on.

This might be good for trying to boost out the 4th and the 5th expand but More and more people are telling me that they dont need the resources endgame, so I guess that its pretty much just tearing it down at that point.
