Wasn't in the alliance when it happened but i am assuming that it was a merge possibly but failed ... a question only they know

I can tell you what happened, we merged our top 10 players into no brakes and no speed limit (goon at the time). It made sense because the other 30 or so players were inactive or simmers, plus it gave us more cities to take.
