No need to be bitter...

"We have no respect for the BH alliance. We are unlikely to show any mercy to any of them. As a group, they are generally poor cravenly-types of players."

Do you feel better now? We are barely paying you any attention and the ship still sinks.

Sinks?? You clearly don't know your history little boy. Read up and then come back when you're ready for the big boys table.

I like stories and turtles. I don't really need history... present works for me. Presently it appears your group is being absorbed into Dystopian Assassins. You have several that are mostly inactive or in VM and you and I both know there isn't a future with the Brotherhood flag flying at the end. It's your only viable option for end game.

Dear members of PE,

Some of you recently sent PM's to the victor of a recent battle that suggested cheating was involved. Your city was lost due to hard work and preparation on our part. This method of attack will continue to be used until the war is won.

If you wish the mods to check all of our accounts then please ask them.

Kind regards,
iFax

I think that DA is sad story of an alliance, they were good, now half of them are in-actives and my alliance is feasting off of DA and they barely even fight back. Ill tell you guys a joke; Dystopian Assassins.

Someone please make another top ten, honestly I'd do one but I don't know enough about the top alliances (all I can get is from grepostats). Ill plus rep anyone who helps bring this thread back on track.

I'd do one, but the last time I did I got a bunch of slack from an alliance that I said wouldn't be around long, and then they disappeared like 3 days later. And I have been here since the beginning so I do know a lot of history. Sigh, my credentials just aren't good enough I guess.

I'd do it but I only have the knowledge of my part of the world so it would be pointless.

I would do one, but no one even looks in the forums that much, so there is no point what so ever.

True. When people encounter ill mannered, disrespectful tones are the response to dialog, rational people shut down and the boards become a wasteland. Only takes one active troll to kill a board. This is well established.

Ps apologies for breaking my vow of silence.

I don't see the reason for the verbal abuse that I see all the time in this game.

What's the point?

I don't see the reason for the verbal abuse that I see all the time in this game.

What's the point?

Frustration at the inability to play at a high level without having their lives dominated by the game, unlike the apparent lack of effort needed by their less excitable counterparts?

People just need to lighten up.

One persons 'humor' can be another persons serious issue (hate speech, verbal abuse, disclosure of information considered private). I work in this space, to some degree, and have had numerous meetings with legal council and even state legislatures to refine bills addressing these very topics. Frankly, saying 'people need to lighten up' is some of the worst possible advice you can give, both from a social perspective and from the perspective of legal professionals.

You are in essence are telling people that their feelings can be dismissed and that abuse is deserved. Take for example verbally battered women or children. Something like they deserved it or they need to lighten up is the most common statement by the Abuser. I am not saying this is an equal situation, but it is comparable.

I would advise that the comments stay focused on what alliances fight well, who will succeed and the like. Why someone fails should focus on their decisions, strategies, etc. I accept plenty of criticism there.

Regardless, this is off topic and I will try to make it my last post. My solo team is no more and as I am under new management I will seek permission for further posts. Merry holidays everyone. Peace to all for a few days.

You misinterpret the object of my criticism.
I was referring to the abuse givers, they being the ones who take the game too seriously and resort to abuse when other players come along and dont seem to care as much as they do. They also being the ones who need to lighten up and take it as a game.
Perhaps I should have been clearer in my explanation.

And happy holiday peacetime to all! :pro:

I also agree that this is way off-topic, but as its the only thing thats remotely alive in this forum I hope we can let it slide for a bit.

In an attempt to bring it back into line however:

I have only dealt with one of the top alliances, Dystopian Assassins. (so Ill just talk about them).
I'm surprised they've lasted this long, they are the king of MRA's on this server as proven by their merge, don't fight tactics. I was wholly disappointed to find half their players attack with unescorted transports, none have trips in their cities. Few care about what is happening to their neighbours and most are just simming away.

When they started attacking us I believed that my alliance would be dead in weeks, for a 100 000 point alliance surely could not stand up to 4 million points in the ocean. Yet we managed to drive one of their members into inactivity within a week without so much as a finger being lifted by the rest of the alliance. It was only when we tried our luck and started attacking their more active members did they come at us. The response was laughable. The simple fact is that we should be dead by now for what we've been doing and yet we aren't. We started months too late in an ocean all but owned by them and yet we are still here. Oh and I was also offered an invite into their fine alliance. There are a few good players, in fact there are many but a good majority of them are playing on other worlds and are just simming mostly.

The problem I have with this alliance is that their goal of getting all goodish players into their alliance is boring. I can only imagine how boring it would have been to accept and join their alliance and have absolutely no competition whatsoever.
Conclusion: I hope for the sake of fun they sink, but they'll most likely win easily just based on their massive core and ability to muster a lot of resources for WW.

Many fair points made here. I wish the people who actually do sim in DA would read them - but unfortunately, they appear to seldom read PMs, Forums and the chances they may actually read this forum is probably remote.

Yes, it's extremely frustrating that so many players persist in cruising - relying on the good nature of their active teammates to save their butt.

One point I'd like to make though, is that because DA has so many different alliances on its spread-out borders, the likelihood of you having met a fair cross-section of the alliance based is unlikely. One thing is for sure - attacking and taking cities from less-able members is welcomed.

Why?

Because then these less-able members will learn something (improve skills, ask for tips to improve, or fade-out, their close neighbors will too (either they help or dont), and both you and DA will improve in the long-run.

Another point I'd like to make is that we have NOT been an MRA. Not that MRAs are always bad by my definition. Rather, DA was slimming down to about 50 members before they merged with Hashashins (about 100+). Others have joined here and there (some bad choices, some better) - but generally DA have been choosy about their additions. I think its a bit ripe to sling the insult of MRA so easily. However, agreed that quite a few don't have skills. It's an ongoing issue, as are the simmers who will be cut. Naturally there are some of the usual moles, no doubt, as well.

One final comment - skill levels are usually defined by the skill of the opposition - but allow for the occasional stuff-up due to RL or simple mistake. Even the best make them, but just less often than others.

Those who know me in-game know that I play hard, but respectfully. I know those in my battle group do as well - and I know most of my current respected foes do as well.

Merry Christmas!

In my opinion, DA believes it's on a reality dating show. They are the so called "hot chic" and they are trying to promise a rose to every alliance that could get in their way. The problem with those shows is there is only one winner and you have to keep making cuts. Now smaller and more desperate alliances that have no chance will of course flock to them and be suckered in with promises but how many of those that join do you think will still be there after they have to make room?

200 people is what you get. If Hellfyre decided, hey let's go ahead and take this rose being offered to us (as it is everyone else)... how many people in DA feel confident they wouldn't be cut immediately? I'm sorry but we're not that easy or desperate. You can't just bat your eyes, blow us kisses and win us over. The thing is... we didn't audition for your crummy show.

Merry Christmas. ;)
