Everyone is allowed to buy gold. hardly unfair and it keeps the game going. Gold is a necessary evil.

Being that small they can have a stronger bond between them making them a have a nice shot at being a legit threat down the road, especially when they pick up a guy or two every once in a while.

because, if one of the large premades in this world attacked them they would just be too small to defend themselves
