Haven't seen either but Sword Art Online is a pretty crappy name for an anime.

According to MAL ratings, SAO has a larger group of fans and .8 higher rating.

TBH, the only reason I watch Accel World is cuz of Kuroyukihime :p

I thought about watching SAO but accel world didn't look very good. Regardless neither of them are a genre I much care for.

Ecchi = border-line H*****, or mild-nudity

Harem = mostly girls with 1 dude

I enjoyed watching Accel World more, but I did enjoy SAO quite a bit as my alliance in game is named after one of the guilds
