got enough points but cannot reserch hoplites, any clues reserched so far slinger, archer,city guard, diplomacy, at a loss here also what does the reset button do do you get your reserch points back?

well, unless your academy is at level 8, then you do not have enough RP to research Hoplite.
You can reset researches to get back some RP, but you need one Cultural point to reset a single research.

oh and if you research everything you will run out of rp to research the later (more useful) researches in the academy.

actually the academy needs to be at lvl 4 with 8 RP available lvl 8 is nuts
