concerned about my island

Greetings all. I'm a little bit of a newb. I've been playing for a few months on Barris and started in Delos to see if I could get a better start. I'm a forum moderator in my alliance on Barris.

Anyway, I'm in ocean 44 and the problem is that I really don't want to join a potentially newbish MRA but my island is completely overrun with one. Looking around there are only three active players that aren't in the MRA. One of them is in a different MRA so when BP ends that leaves me and someone else as the only two targets worth farming on the island.

I have two options the way I see it. I can leave my dignity at the door and join the popular MRA on my island or I can go it alone and hopefully last about a week before I'm constantly farmed. I'm not a gold user and work 12 hour shifts so that last option probably wont work. Any recommendations from someone with more experience?

I'd advise talking to the other guy on your island and seeing what you can do. I'm sure he is also concerned. Also talk to the minority MRA no shame in making new friends and working together.

Then work on building up troops and a system of support for when you work. Concentrate on Militia, walls, caves, and troops. Don't be afraid to get in their faces you'll need to use an in your face offense if you want to win. Keep them from attacking you as much as possible and when they do attack make them get little to nothing off it. IE dodge and call up the militia.

Remember you won't be alone for long your alliance can't be far behind in transports and should be able to field some support before bp even ends if you need it. Also there's no guarantee that they will all attack you!.

Don't forget to keep some troops ready to farm (slinger and archer divisions or horses if you can reach them) go clear the inactives and farm them the boost in resources might be something they miss and is invaluable to you in these situations set an alarm and get them early. Also don't forget to stow your troops away. when you can.

But on day one the second your bp ends go spy out some people you think you can take out early see who has what and coordinate with your island to do the same chances are you'll get a ton of intel for trading reports with people. Your alliance should AT LEAST be able to help with spying reports also. The more intel you gather the quicker you can put them on the defensive and off balance.

Thanks for the reply. That's some pretty good advice and sweet strategy I +rep for that but that only leaves me the option of joining a minority MRA. I guess that's what it's going to have to be though. The main MRA is "Occupy" and I could never join them largely because of the name. If the name is any indication of how well they are able to achieve goals than count me waaaay out. Plus, I really don't like jobless hippies but that's for a different thread o_0

Well, I just realized that the guy in the other mra is less active than me. Oh well, I'll just go it alone for now. Guess, I could restart if I felt like it. I'm really not digging mra's right now

You don't have to join anyone. Continue doing what your doing and stick to a game plan and you'll be okay

When you join an alliance, they don't have to be on your island. Check out your neighboring ones too. And I don't know how you have ben playng on Baris for months, it is still a new world.

They should be close to your island though don't try to go far out and expect support.

Hmm, I do pity any player that spawned in an ocean other than O55. There is absolutely no one worth joining in O44, you might consider For The Buzz, but I somewhat doubt that's a long-term solution.

If I were you, I'd continue alone - do what nodcrush has suggested until a decent alliance crops up, it's highly probable that the MRAs will splinter into the good and the bad in the long-run *looks at Evolution of D3th*

Yeah i'd strike it on your own or even form your own alliance and recruit players you think need to work together.

that's what I'm doing in my ocean. I have even found a player I know from Theta. It should be a fun ride. I'll be looking to move toward o55 once conquest starts.

Anyway nuke, form your own alliance or try to go it alone. the second works if you are on a lot the first can help create a support system.

Ok well, first off I want to give my thanks to the people that offered support to me in game. I'll hunt you guys down and thank you guys here in a while.

After discussing things with Occupy founder, Dany C this mra looks more promising than what I originally thought they were at first; another noobish mra. He's assured me there will be some fat cutting and I can have my share on my island so I decided to join. What swayed me more is that he appears to have some experience, which was my main concern to begin with, and the ocean presence is fairly formidable. Especially on my island. So if you can't beat em join em lol. I will just put my prejudice against the name aside -___-

If i am right Danny played on Eta and was the founder of SB which was a terrible alliance, but if he can learn from his mistakes he may be able to run a good alliance.

I talk to one of their members that speaks highly of him, too.

They pawned a problem of theirs off on Myrmidons today not a good start.

Idk about that, I didn't see anyone pawning a problem off unless you consider them trying to resolve it diplomatically pawning. I think they were mainly focused on annihilating for the bzzzzz and they weren't able to reach the island the problem city was on... possibly. I will say that there was no pawning involved. In fact I witnessed Myrmidons trying to make a point of not messing with their ally

They aren't trying to resolve it diplomatically...At least not Myrmidons who's offer to us was "join us or be destroyed"...Well seeing Myrmidon's stats and them in action personally obviously we've opted to take our chances. (-:

And actually both sides had good coverage but they still lost. ^.^ See this is why you don't join MRA's

Our diplomat was trying to contact whoever in LD was attacking. The Myrmidon's reaction when being contacted by the Occupy neighbor was to go on the attack and keep us updated on the status. That's some pretty awesome diplomating I don't care how you cut it lol. No seriously, we would have been better served if he just supported or told him to dodge imo

Haha they tried to take diplomacy to us in a different stand point and are getting stomped or hitting walls if they try to go on the offensive. This world is like the Big East of Grepolis. :p

Dont worry as most MRAs fizzle and most of the members go awol within the first 2 weeks so I would start farming them as soon as protection is over . Crush your enemies before the can even build up i say
