I know that if a conquest is o going and all the ships are killed then the Cs is destroyed too and it's over? Is it the same for land troops if they are all killed does that mean the Cs is also killed? If not what is the point of having DLU at a siege?

DLU has the same application as Biremes/Triremes in conquests. If they're all destroyed then the CS will be taken out and the siege will break.
