During CS attack or support?

Hi, i have been confused :(

Lets say that i have send an attack to a city, resulting its clearance.
And after that I have sent my CS with some biremes and some defensive units.
If i want to support more, should I sent an ATTACK to that city or SUPPORT??
I don't want my units fight each other :)

in conquest worlds you need to send attacks to land before your CS and support to land after your CS.

so if you want more defence at your siege then send support to land after your CS ;)
