eta server, should i colonize or conquer?

i am new to this game, i started 2 days ago in delta and lucky i found eta open today and i jump ship to the new server, i have read the manual extensively and know the mechanics basically

my question is, do i now conquer or colonize?

also do i need 3 cultural points for my 2nd city?

First of all Eta server has the Revolt system implemented. Moreover, it's up to you if you will colonize a new city or take someone's else

and no, your 2nd city is free. 3rd city costs 3 culture points

I strongly recommend against colonies. Lol....

You dont have any farms on colony islands, you will have to feed it resources to build it up.

however, with the new anchor points on islands, you can colonize onto an inhabited island starting with a city at 779 points with a fairly adequate build.

it is something to consider, but i would go for conquests in the earlier stages. you are likely to get a city with most of what you need build up, already done for you saving you time, effort and resources
