How come the name of every town on my island (except mine) and most on the next island starts with '1.' - are these just false cities made to get us started?

did you change the name of your town? Mine started as 1.TaskCo1's City

This is done incase you don't change the name of your cities, this way it counts and organizes for you.

I think this new world.. everyone's cities start as '1. xyz's city'.
