Hello and welcome to the second Issue of Fylakas newspaper. I would like to say massive thanks for all the mostly very positive feedback i got from the first issue. I am happy you found it helpful and entertaining and it gave me more positive vibes to continue. And not only that, some of you even offered help and want to participate in future issues to make them even better. That goes to show you that GREPOLIS community is not so toxic as someone may led you to believe and we have some genuine nice people playing the game. And so i have decided to dedicate this issue to you nice folks. I believe you deserve to be exposed to the world. So prepare your suits and dresses, here comes the spotlight...
Before i start calling out names (in a positive way of course), i want you to briefly look at the current situation on the server as it will make you better understand some of the comments people made answering my newspaper questions. The world map looks very similar to the one 2 weeks ago, but there are changes taking place i believe will make my next SWIM/SINK series in 2 weeks interesting.
First, in O55 it does look like Fortress is expanding down south. They have taken a few cities from Heavy Metal to help them with it.
In O54 and O45 both Sunshine and Owllusion doesn't seem to be expanding much, just consolidating their cores.
Lastly, in O44 there seems to be the biggest action with Pirates expanding to all sides, gaining foothold in the north and causing friction in the Aliens core.
This issue will consist of 2 parts - not so serious part AND a little more serious part. You guys cracked me up with some of the answers, made me rethink in which world i'm living in, but then some of you wrote such a deep and detailed answers i feel obligated to share them with the world. Overall i received in total 10 pages of text, so you can imagine, there are things to show and write about. With that being said, without further ado, let's get into action...
Alliance Owllusion. Quite a few of you expressed your opinion on this matter. If you remember, this alliance doesn't have the longest list of top 35 players and fighters on Fylakas, yet there are people with courage who doesn't fear getting their hands dirty. I wonder if you can figure out the name of this person.
The dots doesn't seem to go together, because someone else from O54 TOP alliance who likes 80's pop music and drinking all the time , thinks that things are...well... see for yourself.
Better boring than dead. Owllusion may have the best diplomacy on the server, they make enemy players quit by not even fighting with them. What is this magic recipe? Only time will tell.
However someone from Nr.1 alliance thinks differently about it (Owllusion players better not read this insult !)
We conclude with more insults and predictions about arguably Nr. 4 alliance on the server.
What is going on with Fortress. Are they really falling down behind ? Someone from Sunshine is already asking questions...
It also seems that even player's from inside the alliance are not sure about their situation...
This evaluation about Heavy Metal does not keep up with the facts in both statistics and words from the players themselves...
If the Fortress can't take cities from Sunshine coalition, they could go...north? Oh wait, did i read it somewhere else already?
To conclude this, Fortress really needs to amp their players morale, this just cannot continue to happen, it can spread like a virus.
Now if we move forward to address the situation from the Sunshine coalition's standpoint, we right out of the bat can feel their confidence.
We can also compare the different outlook on the Heavy metal situation. 1st is an opinion from Fortress player and then a reply from Sunshine.
HOWEVER, i'm not sure if this is a cause of concern, but it might indicate some emergency situation within Sunshine coalition !
To wrap the fun part up, I would like to mention one of the brave guys from TOP 19 alliance. They may be small, but the spirit is high !
AND i have to finish with the boy from my own coalition who has done something unbelievable, take notes boys !
We have arrived to the last part of the newspaper. It was very interesting for me to read how you started to play the game, what makes you keep playing it and what you would say to the young players just starting. Lets get rolling !
1. Most of the ones who answered have been playing Grepolis from almost the beginning. There was even Year 2008 mentioned, see for yourselves.
2. Asked what would you say to the new players i will cite one players answer that sums it up very well:
"Welcome to the game! It can be a lot to learn at first, and just like with anything even the old players like me are constantly learning and relearning every day. This style of game is not for everyone, but if it resonates with you then I believe it is definitely worth exploring further and figuring out how to fit the game into your life. I have met a lot of good friends over the years here, and nothing beats the adrenaline rushes of killing the enemy alliance' troops or conquering your first city on a new world, or a million other things on this game. It truly is a great game and I will always love it."
3. In the final conclusion i would like to give a shout out to the players whom you mentioned in your answers.
