Building your city up, joining other players in an alliance and then crushing the weaker players is what the game is all about! Any city that grows in points enough becomes a target.
What's more like it is you got all cushy and comfortable in a quiet area of the ocean and forgot you were playing a WAR GAME.

Again another sad sack GW player in here to insult me. Again who was the one to start email and messaging me when I wouldn't just give you my city. You sound like the cry baby to me. "Oh you wouldn't just give me the city I want so I'm gonna break grepo rules and email to insult him and then I'm going to go on the forums and cry when he suggest others do the same to me". More like what happened is that you couldn't handle loosing this battle so instead you pm'ed me to harass me. I think you where one of the first to do it. Funny how you will call me a complainer and attack me for not understanding the game where you lack the knowledge to realize that tearing down my city is part of the game and if I chose not to give it to you, instead of getting all huffy and emailing me, you should have moved on. Again your bloated with ego and self confidence and it is starting to make you sink. Try to realize that this forum is a tool for recruiting and dissuading people from your enemies. I am using that tool to seek my revenge on your alliance. You guys are the only here insulting me as you look more and more desperate to others. Thanks for the help.

Do any of you even realize the guy that took my city and ended up wasting his expansion on a crummy city isn't even as mad. He never emailed me but you guys did. Even he is handling the loss better than you. And that's just what you did is lose. Because you didn't believe that I would tear down my city and you foolishly went ahead with your plans. My advice to you is next time when you see someone is not going to let you have the city just be smart enough to give it up instead of flaming them for deconstructing. Or at least make sure that your not the one that sends insulting emails with the earliest time stamp.

Oh yeah. Also providing a link to a sight with products for purchase not hosted by grepo is against the rules and you may want to take that down before you get booted. I'm not the type to report others for that kind of stuff but admin is watching. I want to beat you through the game. Not entice you into doing dumb stuff that gets you booted. Also if you haven't been following the sims comment is played out. As explained before if your siting in you safety seat behind your wall of all the top alliances where you will never worry of get attacked..your the one simming it up.

But in a battle where one side sets out to take a city and one side sets out to defend a city, I think the side who took the city won.
Not the side that start to and moan to anyone who would listen, and then destroy his city instead of doing the honourable thing and fight for it.

Wow. Now your getting racist on the forums. That's great guys. The exact character I spoke of which is how this thread got started.
You know this is my mistake. I thought that tearing down my city, and not providing you the battle points for culture in an effort to pigeonhole you and stunt your growth was a great strategy. While your enemies take over 6000+ point cities and loads of culture you got only a 3k city and no culture. Just a city you have to grow with no harbor to get off the island for a while. Even the most beginner of players knows that each new city level requires an increasing amount of culture each time, thus retarding the growth of your city. If I can't beat you, then I try to retard your growth so your enemies may get a jump on you for your enemies are my allies. I even got a colony ship off during the attacks too make up for my lost city. Great strategy in my mind.
This forum was also part of my strategy as I was here to petition potential alliance members away from you alliance for lack of character. Especially the lack of character shown by bigskyguy.
The part that I guess that I didn't understand is that this is a war game. And wile roshamboing a player is OK because it is a war game, to use every resource and strategy available to you such as the gold or the forums is not OK. You see that's the part I was getting hung up on. Not that it is a war game. I get that. I just didn't understand that in a war game you should do just as you enemy wants and expects you to do. How dumb of me. Don't get caught up on the wording of the previous posts guys because you know you got the point.
Now I am definitely a quitter, a coward, and a crybaby who is playing sims and you know this because of my response to bigsky in the messages he sent me that I posted earlier. He broke three grepo rules before I even started posting here. Making any attempt to prevent another from playing the game or any attempts to prevent a player from using gold or commenting on their use of gold is strictly prohibited. More of you sent me insults through private message which is also strictly prohibited. I easily could have contacted grepopolice and put an end to the battle as they would have booted a good number of those players and ended the battle/communication between us. But now I see your point, I am a crybaby for still wanting to play the game myself.
I honestly did not think that my strategy would result in racism on the forum. I had already been having the thoughts this morning that it is time to end this as I saw Abigaill'+s post. And not because it was so shocking and upsetting to me or anything like that but more for the pure stupidity of it. You see at this point we are all just throwing insults at each other and doing things that are not going to get just me or bigsky booted, but to get all of us booted. And the fact is that while I'm a big boy and can take care of myself (otherwise I wouldn't start a forum that is going to result in the silence of my supporters while others like you flame me as hard as you can), there are others who see this, that are turned off from what we are saying and doing at this point and it either hurts them or makes them not want to play. After having spent the day at work thinking about this and then coming home to see the MLK comments I have come to realize that my decision is the only reasonable one.
As you leader I again choose to do the only thing that will protect you my friends. I am going to ghost myself and my account so that there is really no more reason for any of us to continue to post here or for any one other than me to get booted. As I explained before I was not looking to get people booted, and apparently, I started this all by using gold and these forums as a tool for my gaming.
I do leave you with this one last suggestion bigsky. The next time you run into a battle where you are not going to get what you want. Instead of trying to get immature with other players perhaps you need to examine your efforts and determine if they are leading you where you want to go. You see much as I am doing right now, sometimes you need to admit that you are fighting a battle that might not have been as prosperous as you had first thought and the outcome might take a turn down a road that you don't want to go down. When you put yourself in a position where you can be booted just for your own pride, and you do get booted, then you leave your alliance high and dry. Next time a better choice might be to actually contact your member, discuss with him the situation that you have discovered on the city he plans to take over, and if it is not what he wants but you feel you still need to take it to prove your point, then you take the damn city yourself and do it without the threats, insults, and encouragement to the rest of your alliance to contact someone and hassle them through private message. That is how a true leader behaves.
To my former alliance, pact allies, private allies, and friends. I have the same lesson to learn as bigsky does. I should have acted as part of the alliance/group instead of acting on my own damn pride, and stayed in the alliance and allowed you to defend me. And now I know why you are upset about it. I thought I was doing best for you but now I realize that I left you high and dry and now you are stuck fighting a fight I began and in a crippled state having lost me.You must understand that bigsky and others where already messaging me when I quit. He just couldn't handle the strategy. But I know that you are strong. One of you although hesitant will make a great leader and you know who I am talking about. I know you are new and hesitant but your a natural. I don't want to mention your name as I don't want to mark you. You guys will be alright as long as you pick up my allies I have sent you way during the game. These guys although not all a part of an alliance helped me and you a lot (silently and slyly I may add). The one alliance has a leader who is hungry and his personality fits the group. If you invite "sword" (i hope you know who I am referring to) he brings some support. There where also some guys close to one of my former cities that had contacted us regarding a farming mistake. I never had the chance to communicate with them but if you use the techniques I taught you they will join. You just need to view their contact as a request to join. Remember, I didn't build that alliance you guys did, I just introduced some people to each other, that's all.
Lastly to the people emailing me kind words. Thanks. I know it appears that I am getting verbally beaten up hear but CnoteG is just a character. I'm not heartbroken over any of this.
Now as some of you might like to say, I will run off crying to go play my sims. Although it is not my lost city I cry over. I cry over the fact that I found this awesome game but have come to realize that it is ruined by people that will forever follow me and private message me (very annoying even to just delete) and I just can't be the guy who runs to the internet police. Oh yeah, and since I know everyone else loves this one I'll throw it out there one more time. I don't play the sims. Tried 'em. Boring. What happens. Nothing. Love em anyways.

Grepolis is about individual growth and prosperity, and inevitably about playing as an alliance so that each individual can be satisfied with his own lot. It is not making sure than big mean alliances don't get what they want. If you can't be powerful, don't criticize others for their successes, it trivializes the politics of the game.
CNoteG, your points are valid and in any real world situation your criticisms would be taken seriously. But, this isn't the real world and no real lives are at stake, so if you don't plan to play the game the way it is meant to be played, don't spend so much time arguing with people you've never met and never will.
