How to talk to people

Just started , nut use to these games. I'm finding it difficult trying to find how to talk to people in my world? Can someone help?

Mail them, use the alliance forums, or ingame chat if you are in an alliance

Use the mail feature as SweetT said, get to know your neighbours and try to join an alliance so you can get to know more people.
