Wish List Idea: New Gods

Proposal: The addition of two new gods, bringing the total to 8 gods.


Reason: Aside from the obvious that it’s a game of war with no Ares… the two new gods would add some balance to allow large players an option to fight the small ones, and the small ones an option to negate the large ones power…


Details:

ARES: God of War – devastating affects that cost large favour.

SPELLS:

  1. Twist of Fate: FAVOR: 400 – When cast it negates the current morale effect on an attack for a maximum of 4 hours and replaces it with a random morale between -50% and + 50%, this means a large player can always lift morale from the current -30 when attacking a small player, but may end up even with morale in their favour… (the formula could make it such that it still favours a smaller player, but a large player has a chance of it being in their favour... ie: RANDOM SEED[1-1000] >990=+50, for a large player, >850=+50 small player etc...)

  2. Warriors Cry: FAVOR: 500 – When cast on a city, the units of that city fight with increased vigour for the next hour increasing their attack or defence by between 5 and 25%.

  3. Infiltrate: FAVOR: 250 – When cast on an attack, instead of actually attacking the city they infiltrate it and return a spy report regardless of the defending units or cave.

  4. Warriors Gift: FAVOR: 100 – When cast on a city, doubles the strength of units attacking farming villages for the next 2 hours and removes the population requirements for attacking the villages.
UNITS:

  1. Bird of Prey: POP:1, FAVOR:50, ATTACK: Sharp 50, DEFENCE: 1,1,1, FLY SPEED 30( but cannot travel more than 2 hours away from city) A hawk in armour, swift and strong in attack, but useless in defence, exceptional when combined with infiltrate to obtain information on enemy cities or supporting attacks.

  2. Nemean Lion: POP:100, FAVOR:400, ATTACK: Sharp 1000, DEFENCE: 2000,1500,2000, SPEED 25 This beast is almost impossible to kill, and has a nasty attack rating also. This is the ultimate fighting machine for the god of war with a fast land speed and able to carry as much resource as a horse, it is also the ideal raider.
APHRODITE: Goddess of Beauty and Love – protectionist and growth.

SPELLS:

  1. Obsession: FAVOR: 250 – When cast on a city, for the next 12 hours, if a colony ship lands in the city, the takeover is delayed by 2 hours, during that time the colony ship sits in the harbour and if destroyed the takeover fails, if revolt ends before the takeover then it also fails.

  2. Love: FAVOR: 100 – When cast on a city, the people feel the love of the goddess and work, fight and build at 50% more speed/strength for the next hour.

  3. Garden of Eden: FAVOR: 50 – When cast on a city, the city gains a random bounty of random resource, between 1000 and 3000 resources.

  4. Divine Beauty: FAVOR: 100 – When cast on a city, the god of that city grants the city 50 additional favour.
UNITS:

The myth units of Aphrodite are weak, but have unique special abilities…

  1. Cupids: POP:2, FAVOR:50, ATTACK: Distance 20, DEFENCE: 10,5,1, FLY SPEED 100, if they successfully land an attack in a revolt world, they always start a revolt, in conquest they have double speed, their attacks cannot be seen while incoming until the last 10% of their journey.

  2. Unicorn: POP 10, FAVOR:250, ATTACK: Sharp 60, DEFENCE: 18,18,24, SPEED 22, they appear to mortals to be an ordinary horse, and spy reports see them as horsemen, when attacked however they will fight as normal against mortals, but each unicorn that dies will kill 1 enemy myth unit regardless of its strength.

Balance/Abuse Prevention:

I am sure someone will think of one… but I see the two of them as adding some balance into the game, making it possible for even the smallest player to defend against highly armed large ones, and also for the large player to have a chance to negate negative effects…
