Thanks for the further info Skully and Cheater. I understand the point now, and agree. The USA bail system is flawed in the same way as its entire court justice system, where plea bargaining undoubtedly results in many innocent people either admitting guilt or being given far harsher sentences than guilty people. All in the name of saving money ofc.

I don't think it is really the fault of the bail system, more of the whole USA culture and approach to justice.
