Answered Joining a world late

Hi all,
I've played grepolis on and off since Epsilon and I always prefer to join the world late to play on the rim as I find it's just easier to survive (which might be a nooby thing to say). I'm planning on joining the most recent world.

But anyway, I have 2 questions:

1. How late can you join a world without being at an insurmountable disadvantage? I haven't played since Bhrytos so I can't really remember how late I was there.

2. When does the influx of new players begin to slow down to a level in which the rim oceans fill up very slowly?

I know these are quite subjective questions but all opinions are much appreciated!

Thank you,
Vlad

It really depends on world speed.

Speed 1s usually fill slower than 2s and 3s. For example, Lato would be a good one to start in right now, and in about a month, you'll be able to start on the rim on Mesembria without being at too much of a disadvantage.

I have just started imbros right on the rim but it is incredibly slow world speed.
