Answered Land units need transports when attacking together with ships on same island?

Question: Why does land units need transports for attacks on the same island if you send ships in the attack?

For example, shouldn't I be able to send a CS against a city on my own island and have my land units travel over land and ships travel over water?

This was the only way I thought land myth units were in any way useful. And it turns out nope, they're not. Cause you still need transports.

You have to have ships so that way they meet up at the same time. All the attacking troops go together.

or you could just send them in different waves
The whole point would be to send the unit with the CS so that it can both help in the attack and stay to defend the siege once the attack is won. Otherwise the now unescorted CS will be sniped by a 1-sec support/attack from the city you're attacking unless you're attacking a total noob who doesn't know how to time his troops (in which case you wouldn't need the hassle of doing something like this in the first place).

I'm not so much questioning why we need transports to accompany a CS on our own island (although I still think you shouldn't), but rather the fact that since this isn't even possible, it means defensive or "balanced" myth units are utter and complete trash compared to flying alteratives in pretty much every single way.

The only possible way left I can see to use them would be to use Medusae together with a CS sending town, but honestly, you'd need to know in advance that the city you're targeting is a Hera town, and all Medusae die to a Bireme nuke no matter what you do, and if the enemy knows you're sending medusae all he needs to do is change his god and just like that your Medusae won't be able to stay to defend the siege against snipes. So much for "balanced" units. Basically they're useless even in this way. And don't get me started on Minotaurs or Cyclops for example.

Why would anyone design a game this way?

ANY myth sent in an attack with a cs can stay in the city no matter the god chosen by the defender. however, if you send support troops separately, they must match the god in the city. and every time a god is changed you lose all your favor, so a heavy burden for lots of changes.

Just get some help dude sounds like your trying to do everything yourself. If you aren't at the level where you can send enough tight clearance and support separately yourself just get together with some close alliance players. With enough help and close waves you could just send a light cs with a couple of myths in a handful of ts.
