So here we are in the age of World Wonders and despite everyone (except Cerberus) claiming indifference here is the state of play (that you can check in your ranking tab) so you can see that GW and NR are actually reasonably heavily involved.
So the Cerbs seem safe on The Lighthouse in O46, The Statue in O58 and and The Colossus in O47
NR can be happy with their Gardens in O34 and their Temple in O24
GW have a fight on for both The Pyramids and The Tomb!
So it appears that the key battle ground will be the Pyramids. Cerbs have 3 safe. NR have 2 safe.
But to prevent the Cerbs from a probable win would mean that GW would have to effectively forget the the Mausoleum for NR to complete to give NR and Cerbs 3 each and then concentrate solely to play king maker (or not) with the Pyramids.
This would make for an interesting situation. Could GW swallow their pride and merge the into NR (or Cerbs if they have room) for the win or can the legion of Cerbs simply push their villagers harder? Or will NR or GW make a play to take a world wonder from the Cerbs? Or perhaps the Cerbs will try the same? Will the desperate rush create fractures between allies. Can the leaders see the bigger picture? Stay tuned for more exciting adventures of "SimCity Mu 2012 (World Wonder Expansion Pack)".
So, there you go, I have tried to make the World Wonders seem, at least, interesting. I can't say it looks like I have been successful but at least it is something to read between your click-farming. And your insightful comments are welcome.
And perhaps... it isn't quite such a foregone conclusion.
