It feels like the second act of this world has officially come to an end.
Not with one decisive operation.
Not with one alliance disappearing overnight.
But with the disappearance of a name that shaped the first months of this world.
No Mates.
Not destroyed.
Not defeated.
Simply... transformed.
Most of its active players are now part of Zesty.
Others made a different decision.
Time, as always, will judge those choices better than forum posts ever could.

There is one thing the former No Mates players will hear a lot around here.
LTS yourself.
The best way of dealing with a revolt...
...is preventing that revolt in the first place.
Help when you can.
Ask for help when you need it.
Build back your walls.
And always retaliate.
Those who follow Breakdown know the drill.
Some might simply need a small reminder.
Others will learn.
As for the merger itself...
I have to admit, I never expected to end up taking strategic advice from a donkey and a goat.
Yet here we are.
It's becoming a proper zoo around here.
Welcome aboard.
One thing is worth remembering.
The original agreement between No Mates and The Deadly Angels wasn't negotiated by today's JFL.
It was negotiated by Criki, while he was still "leading" No Mates.
Today, Criki wears a different tag.
Players change alliances.
Agreements don't suddenly lose their history because the names above them do.
The Deadly Angels also deserve some recognition for the past few weeks.
Whatever people's politics may be, negotiating from a position where the number one alliance on the server starts handing cities back to you is not something that happens by accident.
Neither is consolidating your southern front while absorbing a respectable number of former No Mates cities after the coalition dissolved.
Those outcomes are earned.
They weren't gifted.
Some of the older Angels probably experienced a strange feeling being told to LTS Charlie.
After all...
It isn't the first time Charlie has been part of a story involving Bloods, a crown, and a result that many people still believe should have ended differently.
Old Grepolis stories have a habit of refusing to stay buried.
Then there is Supreme Samurai Squad.
For months they quietly watched everybody else exhaust themselves.
Recruitment?
Almost none.
Forum drama?
not their cup of tea
Noise?
Very little.
Then one day...
...Ghosts of Zygomal discovered the samurai had apparently decided that waiting was overrated.
More than twenty cities later, I suspect they once again have everybody's attention.
Timing remains one of the strongest weapons in Grepolis.
There still are a few places a Zesty player can honestly call "backline."
Ocean 35.
And perhaps that little corner of Ocean 45 closest to Narnia.
As for everyone who recently became part of Zesty...
You are no longer joining an alliance.
You are becoming part of one.
That means victories are shared.
Defeats are shared.
Late-night DLU calls are shared.
The occasional questionable Discord conversation is shared.
And, if we're doing things properly...
...so are the revenge operations afterwards.
