To be honest I had to learn the "do not attack unescorted"-lesson the hard way as well a long time ago

I never learnt the hard way lol, but that is mainly because I spent the majority of my first worlds just founding cities. Once I started to learn, sending escorted attacks was a first lesson. From then i've always been happy
