Nukes vs Mixed

So.. I have wondered and have had discussions about this with some people ago. Which is better to build? Full sized nukes (like 1.2k slingers, 400 horses, etc) or mixed ALU nukes (including slingers, hops, horses etc). Which ones are more effective? And more imporrtantly, which one is better to make, and what advantages/disadvantages does each have?

Personally I find building nukes of one type of troops better, its easier to keep track of for me, and I can move resources around better.

there is far more to building awsome nukes than just troop choice imo but mixed nukes can spread risk on blind attacks while pure nukes can be devistating when you are sure of what your hitting.

I tend to build mixed because I tend to build whatever fits the res that is in my warehouse that day, the primary reason being reload time.

As Zero said though, if I know what my opponent likes to defend with I build the best pure nukes to take them out.

You get mixed nukes built quicker and you should probably use them against cities that you are unsure of what is inside, but generally one trooped nukes are better

I usually have a bunch of one types nukes and then some cities set aside so that I can build any troop combination a want to counter a specific defense or offense.

^^^ This.

Really depends what you are hitting, wether you are going in blind, and what the enemy's usual defence is.

As ZP says, Mixed good if you are attacking blind, or if the defender has solid mixed defence, but if you know what the defender is using, pure nukes can blow the defence away.

With all the various events that seem to be running non stop, mixed nukes appear very much in vogue as you can apply a sling bonus, horse bonus and hop bonus and pretty much have an offence up and running in a matter of hours.

Some like Sling nukes on front lines as they are cheap and easy to rebuild, some may have pure sharp nukes in offensive cities they intend to turn to defence. different horses. different courses.

lets up the anti and ask this

whats better and why, fast or slow transports with mixed or pure nukes?

personaly i think answering this question and others like it will improve a players in game ability.

ill give you my thoughts later

Well I'll always have some slow trans incase I need to slow down the movement for a snipe but mostly I use fast trans.

I always use fast transports, really hate slow ones. However, I dont think there's any harm in leaving 1 slow transport, for sniping purposes.

Mixing isnt good, all it does is make it weaker. Either go strictly defense or offense in a city, not mixed.

By mixed we mean more than one offensive unit for an offensive city or more than one defensive unit for a defensive city.

Defense requires a combination of swords, archs, and hops to be strong. A slinger nuke for example would be great in killing a harpy nuke. The nukes should be pure or else it weakens the attack.

on conquest servers speed and timing are of the essance but on revolt servers there is no suprise as such because you have 12hrs to register the revolt and prep for it.

slow transports may not have suprise on there side but they do have brute strength as they considerably up the attack potential of a full nuke from any attack city.

imo a great attack nuke requires the right transports the correct amount of cats and an apropreiate amount of LS getting the ballance right for each attack is whats important.

sorry your totaly wrong there are better defences than swrods archers and hops and pure nukes are only good if you know what your hitting in attack
send any pure nuke against a 25 wall and it will fail send it with cats and it will do better
send a pure nuke against a def that is strong to that particuler nuke and its an epic fail

mixed nukes improve performance and edge your bets finding the correct formate is key and im not giving that away:pro:

Depends on phase of the game, how old the world is, unit speed.

Early in the game when conquests are closer, slow is plenty good enough, but later in the game when targets are in the next ocean slows are a nightmare.

Speed 1, slows take about 4 days to reach their target, unit speed 3 slows arent too bad

ANd i always have one slow transport in every city to help with timings.

Never use a pure nuke if you are going in blind. At least send some mix waves in first then check your wall so you have some idea.
