Proposal:

Have an option in settings to remove the warning that you are about to attack your ally.

Have you Checked the DNS and PSI lists in the Archives? Is this idea similar to one that has been previously suggested?

Yes and nope should be ok to discuss

Reason:

There have been many a time when you're about to send a snipe to stop an enemy landing a cs on your ally and the message pops up and can make it much more difficult to get your timings right.

Details:

Every player would have the default setting that the message appears whenever you're going to attack an ally as it does at the moment. Keeping it this way will mean that you aren't taking away valuable protection for new players or those who like to have that safety net there. However experienced players would be able to go into the setting and hit the check box saying "Turn off warning when attacking allies" thus making it easier to attack and recall and resend if needs be when trying to snipe a cs.

Visual Aids:

None

Balance:

By being able to keep the settings as they are for new players it doesn't penalise players who want the protection it brings but those who find it inconvenient can get rid of it

Abuse Prevention:

None

Summary:

Removes a potential stumbling block for players trying to help their allies out whilst keeping protection for those who want it.

Agreed. HATE it when the message pops up and I miss the snipe.

Well you are aware it is going to happen, just click attack and then when it is time to send the snipe hit yes.

And when the timer means you've missed it you recall and try and resend and the same window comes up again?

The pop up freezes the timer, so you can't see the Arrival time anymore - making this nearly impossible unless you've spent the time to work out what RL second you have to click send at, but that's just making life difficult.

How about this:

In each attack window (where you select which units to send) there be a simple checkbox to ignore the warning for the ally attack. If checked, the attack will send normally. If unchecked, the attack warning popup will still show. This way you get the warning each time, yet removes the obstacle of time interference by simply adding a checkbox.

-OR-

When selecting an ally city and choosing the attack window, you get the 'red banner' that says it is an Ally City then disappears and just remove the popup altogether.

How about they keep the feature in Revolt but do what Pebble suggested in conquest?

The top option is good.

I am not a fan of the banner. It gets in the way of quite a lot of things and stays up way too long imo. The fact that nothing much you do makes it go away quicker, and having your mouse over the place you are waiting for it to get out of the way of makes it stay longer, irritates me frequently.

Good idea
