supposing that both players had allowed their stats to be compared
Thanks for the FormatSeems nice, but unnecessary try this for your list instead:
How many times you've been successfully spied would be a tipoff that someone is spying you (you won't know who, but you'll know it's happening)
I like this, but more as an addon to Administrator, since Administrator is advertised as "he will prepare MANY REPORTS for you" - yet I have not seen a report "prepared" by the administrator in all the time I've had him... :/
If the privacy is good then that's ok. I would enjoy it if you could directly compare two player's stats, similar to xbox live's system to compare the amount of gamer points per game. then you can click on that game and see which awards you have etc.
So you would have player a | player b
Divine powers_________15 | 10
then you could click on divine powers and would see
____________player a | player b
Bolt ______________6 | 3
Earthquake ________5 | -
Protection _________- | 4
etc

As I explained earlier, a Privacy option would fix it. (That option is already in the idea)
but if it let players know when is best to attack you why would you show it?
Proposal:
Introduction of in-game Player Statistics.
Reason:
I think this will enhance the game experience incredibly in lieu of the new awards system. I am a statistics buff, I love to see numbers, and from my experience so do most other people. We all like to compare ourselves to others and see where we stand. Now adding a statistics page will allow us to dwell in the game for hours and understand it a lot more. See where we stand and what we would like to focus on.
Not only that, this will greatly enhance the retain rate of the game. People who get bored with the game after 1month will tend to play a few weeks more and so on. (this is my assumption based on the gamers I have personally known)
Details:
Step 1: A statistics page
There would be a page in our profile tab (Like awards) where we can see some statistics offered by the game. These statistics will be the ones we all want to know, but have no way of gauging.
Step 2: Statistics available
Examples of viewable statistics (Open to suggestions)
- Spy attempts:
- By You: Successful, Failed, silver spent
- On You: Successful, Failed, silver spent
- Units: *Option to see numbers/Population*
- Total Created: (All of different types)
- Total Lost(Defense)
- Total Lost(Offense)
- Total Killed: (All of different types)
- Total Lost(Defense)
- Total Lost(Offense)
- Units Lost Supporting Others
- Cities:
- Total Cities:
- Colonization attempts:
- By You:
- On You:
- Divine:
- Gods Worshiped (Cities worshiping each god)
- Divine Powers cast (All powers shown and their amounts)
- Resources
- Stolen from Cities
- Stolen from Farming Villages
- Traded in market
- Traded in Farming Village
- Awards
- Awards and their tier you currently Own.
- Daily Awards.
Step 3: Privacy Settings
Just Like Awards there will be a public statistics page(toolbar) You can chose which statistics you want to be public and which private.
Balance:
I haven't been able to see how it will affect other game components.
Abuse Prevention:
Again, this seems to be more of a add-on than a game model changing feature, hence I doubt people can abuse it.
Summary:
I personally feel it will be a great boost to the game environment and make us all wanna play more and spend more time here (Good for developers). Though I am quite positive that even if this idea is approved, it may go to the bottom in terms of preference. But I would like to see this feature implemented soon, as I know my attention span in the game would be GREATLY Enhanced.
I think I may have added too many or too little options, but it is all open to suggestions. Being a programmer myself, I don't think the implementation should be too hard, but that depends on the programming structure of the game.
I also apologize if it has been suggested before, I perhaps overlooked it when I was searching.
Eclipse told me to write this here. I don't understand why. There is nothing about this here... and I did not see that this idea was propose before... but here we go :
