Alright, I'm in the mood for poetry so I started a new thread to display my works. Feel free to do CnC.
The Lonely Man Down the Road
I met a lonely man down the road.
Don’t ask me, which road,
Don’t ask me what he wore!
I met a lonely man down the road.
He was cryin’ a lot;
Because his head was hot;
By sitting under the sun a lot.
I felt sorry for the man,
And brought him a hat.
He said. “Good gracious! I should have brought that”
I went on my way;
Cheerin’ and skippin’ all the way.
While the man snickered,
Behind my back, behind my back.
I met a lonely man down the road.
I met him again,
He was pleading worth his game,
He asked me for money, but I didn’t have any,
He asked me for food, but I wasn’t in a good mood.
He called blights and curses upon me,
And I kicked him on the knee.
For I was the benefactor,
Still, why does he act so?
I met a lonely man down the road.
I met him once again!
I felt a lot of shame,
I apologized to him,
He said he never minded it.
I offered him money,
But he refused.
I offered him food,
But he refused.
I went on my way,
With less of a sway,
For I knew that I had erred,
Only to find my vision blurred.
“Thwack!” was all I heard,
“Splat” was all I saw and the face;
Of the lonely man down the road.
Now I know why people say so,
Meet if you a lonely man,
Run away before you get sowed.
Since as you sow so shall you be reaped.
I met a lonely man down the road.
