Regarding demolition

lets say i build my senate to level 24 and then build a thermal bath/etc....
can i then demolish my senate to 15 or something and recover fs?
or will that destroy the thermal bath?

it will not destroy the thermal baths, and it is a commonly used tactic to gain more free pop space
