Discussion Resource Building Strategy

I meant when conquering the FVs on your island, as you cannot conquer them if you do not have a city on the island. So if your island is -wood and you would like extra wood it would be worthwhile to conquer FVs that offer wood for trade.

The same would apply to your other islands as you conquer cities.

So, I think you are implying that if my island is -wood (which it is), then I would want to conquer a city on an island that is +wood, then I could select that city and farm its FV, giving me more wood. Then, I must somehow be able to use that wood on my first island, correct? How does one transfer the resource, or when you have cities on more than one island, do all your resources go into a central bank to use wherever you need?

It's a common strategy to do that. To trade with a FV, instead of demanding you select trade. You will then see the resources travelling to your city in the movements tab. The resources only go to your currently selected city and cities can only demand/trade from FV on the same island. I hope that makes sense.
