Russian Athletics Exclusion in upcoming Olympics

So a few weeks ago reports came in that Russian athletes were receiving state sponsored doping. Now as far as I am aware Russia has been banned from competing in the upcoming Olympics due to this. The ban is on all Track and Field athletes not every competitor from Russia.

My question and the topic of the debate is whether you think it was fair to exclude an entire category of competitors from a country due to this. And if so, what potential fall out do you see happening and will it have a lasting impact on the games going forward.

I don't really understand why they wouldn't test them all individually, though this is not without similar precedent. This type of thing happens to North Korea all the time.

America has also had a large portion of its medal winning track athletes busted for PED's shortly after winning. It seems like a witch hunt to me.

I think it is fair at least until they have it properly investigated and the whole mess is sorted out

If it was a state sponsored thing then the governing body was likely behind it, Which means all athletes performing under or on behalf of that body should be investigated or tested independantly. Russia or rather the ARAF (All-Russia Athletic Federation) was banned simply because a state sponsored doping programme and as the body responsible for overseeing Russian Athletics they have a responsibilty.

I see also that Russian Athletes aren't banned from competing, They are just banned from competing under the Russian flag, As of this moment it would appear they would be eligible to enter the Rio games if they can pass a WADA drugs test, But they would be competing as an independant and not under a Russian banner.

Personally I welcome clean athletes being allowed to compete under a neutral banner.

America and the rest of the west. Dislike Russia, for a couple reasons. One, Putin speaks plainly, and doesn't follow the west agenda. Secondly, Putin supports the leader of Syria. The west wants to put all the "dictators" out of these countries to stir revolutions. Its the same agenda every time. You all remember, the propaganda against Iraq? Libya? Iran was under the gun for a long time, but now its Syria and once their leader is gone, its going to be Iran next. Because the American government funded the "FSA" which basically are the remnants of ISIS now. So in essence, America created ISIS.

The only issue now is, that Russia is now in the mix in this. The west will do anything to demoralize, sanction, try to instigate a war. Because nations like the scum of Turkey, think they have the backing of the west. Why do you think they are rattling their sabre? They could never fight Russia by themselves, why do you think they are trying so hard to get into the EU? All the while, betraying and blackmailing the European nations by letting these refugees flood through their nation unchecked. And its a proven fact that Turkey gets much of its oil from ISIS.

Russia presents the last obstacle in the way of the western agenda, because the west is hijacked by the people of Israel. Anyone working with Russia is the same enemy to kill according to the west.

So you ask about the Russian sports ban? Well remember the Russian plane that was shot down by "ISIS" members? The Turkey incident, and now they are trying to send U.S troops on the ground in Syria. These corrupt senile politician puppets of the US with no care about their own troops, let alone any of the other nations. Are trying to start another war, the same oligarch that left Bolshevik, Communist Russia are in the U.S and Britain.

It would be fair if they would follow the rules what are agreed on!

If a world body sport organisation is dirty, the sport has to be banned, this is what happened in IAAF, not only the russians.

Only thing possible if rules would be folowed = no track and field next summer games.
anyhow, here some nice details lol,

Bubka sergey, vice president IAAF, hgot aswel something to do with WADA, = excuse me but a guy who was member of the CCCP team in middle og the cold war lol.

SEB COE, hurah hurah lol, ran the entire east europeans countries back home on a sandwish while the entire east were doped by the state....

I was ordered to start taking in 1998 by belgian BOIC and wada members, was belgium ever banned?

Wada said after release my book they would investigate when i come with proof, i came with proof but they went silent lol.

I remember the olympics in 1996, a avant premiere of a movie of arnold swarzenegger, and the president of the IOC welcomed him with the words : BIGGEST ATHLETE OF THE WORLD lol, a guy who admitted to take drugs and steroids,....

They will never admit it but the conservatives in America have wet dreams about Putin. A hard talking Christian who opposes homosexuality and rules with the church having near unlimited power. That kind of thing is like pornography to conservative bosses, But due to previous issues between Russia and the USA acknowledging an admiration for a russian leader is still alittle taboo..

The report was very clear... Organised doping was not limited to Russia and it was just the tip of the iceberg

Only solution is to ban every nation that is doping from the olympics..

So, thats everyone..

I know America is a serious offender is having athletes outed as using steroids or PEDs in track and field. I can't imagine how it feels to be an athlete who worked hard, without cheating, and was given a shot to compete in the Olympics only to find out a large number of people are cheating and doing so in ways that are very hard to catch.

I actually think that report revealed that the criminal practise of organised doping had spread beyond the athletes and nations concerned and clearly identified IAAF involvement at president and vice president level as being involved at the hub of the movements of large amounts of asessts and monies. The only way to avoid the ruination of one of the worlds most pure forms of sport is to go straight for Lamine Diack AND go straight for Sebastien Coe and prosecute them in public. This never really was about Russia... it was about corupption in the IAAF! The very body responsible controlling doping was in fact running it!

Hasn't it been known that every top athlete has been under the influence of something? It's simply not possible to compete without anymore.
