I recently completed Battleground 22, the reward for which was three cerebuses (cerebi?) however, I only received one. What gives?

Did you have enough free population to receive the full award? The rewards will stop when you have maxed out free pop.

Ok - similar with Battleground 24: 2 x Erinyes, activated and received nothing...

Unless you can build up some extra free pop whilst they're running yes all lost. If you do manage to get some fp you will continue to get troops/myths on whatever amount of the reward is left to run.
