SS Poor Show! or Good play?

I was trying to say I put it in my last post Ash, but for those that can't read ;)

"Hello friend, as I'm sure you're aware things have been heating up between our alliances and Reservoir Dogs. I understand you guys hold a pact with RD, and I just wanted to discuss your participation in this fight. We'd like to fight RD 1 on 1, without your interference either offensively or defensively. I understand this may seem like you would be turning your back on a pact mate, but this is not your fight, this is between us, and we can not stand for another alliance to be supporting our enemies.

Please let me know what you are thinking on this."
I personally feel like this is like telling an alliance to just bystand and watch while their friend gets hurt and if you come to help, we will kill you too:)

I put it in my last message sakuk, but I quoted it
You posted the message yes, sable.
However I read and have worded this in the kindest layman terms I could and it sounds like:

"Hey guys
We are going to kill your friends and invade your core ocean. Don't get involved unless you want to die. If you don't get involved we won't kill you till we out number and surround you in all ways possible.
Please let me know if you want to die now or die in a few weeks to months time."

Well obviously that was pretty much what I was saying, but that wasn't the conversation, the message wasn't arrogant and I was opening the door for a discussion. The worst thing that has happened to SL has been the RD pact and vice versa. Had SL actually talked to me then, I'd have NAP'ed with them and we could have fought RD simultaneously, and they actually could have grown, now both alliances have been pretty much dead in the water since. And not because of us but because of that pact.

SL had already been attacking us by this time, I could have sent sakuk a message saying "we're going to war with you and will destroy you!" and that would have been arrogant. But I chose to take a different route

No offense but it did not sound that different, it may have been written more politely, but it was the same message

Stop nagging Sable about this stuff:

If people are determined to believe that that SS is a fire hydrant of evil, spewing treachery and misery upon the inhabitants of this world, there is really nothing we can do about it. We can argue and argue and argue these points - but in the end a lot of people do not want to even consider if this based on the logic of what was said or the actions that have been taken.

We take in good players and we conquer cities with the intention of winning. The same goal as every other alliance. Enough with the complaining about how we go about doing it. If you think that the taking-in-good-players-and-conquering-cities thing is not to your liking, then leave and find another game that suits your inclinations. Like Pong or Lawn Darts.

Stop whining and start fighting.

Past experience tells me players who jump ship before a war is over at first sign of trouble aren't who you want to be recruiting. They'll be just as quick to leave you high and dry when the odds turn on you, so enjoy the scrubs you've picked up. I'd rather wait to aborb the guys who are willing to fight to the end and remain loyal to their alliance. But what do I know (;

By "scrubs" I assume you mean the players SL has picked up. Look at their alliance membership - it has become a revolving door. We have picked up players, mostly larger ones and those who are motivated. They seem to be pretty happy with the progression of events and are expanding accordingly.

Your dragon looks liek a kitty breathing firez

I think Samurai's logo is well done but I read this comment (late at night probably) and burst out laughing. I cannot explain why I find this so funny but the comment still cracks me up.

Just checked pact events and seen once again that Sesame Street has been recruiting our allies good members.
I contacted sablestag about this, cos its getting to the case where he and Sesame Street are just going to kill the world and pretty much just win by default.

starts with SS vs Raider and they recruit Raiders best and now there best members from them, then gang up on the rest and the SS win
The they go on and recruit some of shadow legions good players once there at war with us (i turned there invite down) only we did not crumble like the raiders.
Then the so called coaltion of anti venome, Naj,CT and SL gets a turn for the worst when venom change side and the borg join in the actiov on SS side, results in SS and there allies recruiting CT's members and ganging the rest and claiming the victory.
Now with all the gold spamming and recruiting of there enemies, SS find themselves almost 2x the points of there nearest enemy, so what do they do, try and recruit all the Dogs best players.

This is how things have gone in my eyes and its a really poor diplay, whats everyone elses opinion, do you reckon SS are ruining the warring aspect of grepolis and defeating the object of the game, or you reckon there just playing a good game.
(before a SS members quotes there BP, rember that your main BP has come from the recruited Raiders and its also not hard to have higher BP when you have twice as many cities as everyone else due to the above tactics.

OMG another whining started...

ITS A WAR GAME... DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO WIN !!!!!

Behold the irony of an alliance coming to the forums to accuse SS and I of a "bad show" because I joined SS wanting to take cities from SL, but in the same breath they go and cry to the game mods complaining that they think I am cheating. How many different players have you had contact the mods now? And you want to accuse me of poor sportsmanship? Just accept the fact that you wanted to play a war game with the strategy of less fighting is better, your not as active as others, and I really am just that good.

That awkward moment when an alliance accusing someone of recruiting too much creates a second academy...

that awkward moment, when you relise that we are just shuffling members, so your comment was meaningless, by the way, can you ask your members to get off MY ISLAND

That awkward moment - when no in in the forum supports your illogical and strange opinions - or really cares, for that matter

You can name your city I DESERVE THE NOBEL PRIZE but that does not mean that fantasy is true either

But you have created quite a cottage industry out of abandoned cities and severely undersized towns - perhaps a better name for all of them would be I DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND HOW TO TAKE A CITY BIGGER THAN THIS ONE THAT IS OCCUPIED BY SOMEONE WHO HAS LOGGED ON IN THE LAST WEEK.

And who creates new alliances just to shuffle members? Really? How did that conversation go????:

SL person #1 "I want to move alliances"
SL person #2: "Hang on - we just pacted some guys on the Athens server. OK -what were you saying?"
SL person #1: "I want to move alliances so I can finish my cerb nuke and research espionage in peace"
SD person #1: "I like to dress up like a fairy and throw glitter in my yard at night"
SL person #2: "shut up SD person - you are only here as an obvious shield so we don't lose all our cities in a 24 hr period."
SL person #1: "I will just make an alliance and move there - surely no one will spot the subterfuge - 10% faster spies here I come!!!"
SL person #2: "Great idea - damn! I just spilled my hot cocoa on my Iron Man pajamas - go get me that SD guy so we can use his head to mop the floor. Did you create the new-yet-obviously-same-alliance?"
SL person #1: "Forget it - SS took all my cities"

Thats exactly how it went, how did you know, i take it you still have a spy in our alliance?

I would have got a noble prize, but i came 2nd behind some player that apparently jumped ship to the no1 alliance and wined for support ever since, but im not bitter about 2nd place, cos you have to aplaud that game play.

I figured that is more or less what happened - although there was probably some yelling about various issues thrown in - 'cause that's how the Shadow rolls...

who needs a spy? Exactly what are you doing that requires secret knowledge to defeat? Why would we invest time listening to disgruntled people who don't know anything when we can just take the cities?

I see a 3rd Shadow alliance has (yet again) been drug up from the sewer and commissioned. This amount of "shuffling" would make a Las Vegas casino jealous. Are Shadow Soveriegn part of your wagon train? If so there needs to be some very basic education about what to do before you click the "Attack" button. The only thing the attacks I have seen are lacking is a self-destruct device taped to the side of the biremes they are escorting SLs with.

Whining? You are not one to be running around the forums castigating anyone for whining, Mr. "oh-the dirty-sesame-street-and-their-underhanded-tactic-of-recruiting-good-players-how-can-this-be-allowed-the-horror!!!"

Step away from the keyboard and check the SD guys mowing your lawn - they are probably getting glitter all over the yard

Not sure what went down with Shadow Demons but it seems there has been some disagreement between them and legion. A majority joined 'Shadow Legion 2' with some others wishing to go seperate ways completely to new alliances.
