This was in the first 7 days of the game. Most of you replying didn't even have a 700 point city at the time. Ryan had a level 7 academy. He had no ships, I spied him at 3am his time and saw a good group of units in his city I could wipe out. Circumstances as they were I figured attacking at this time would be the only and last opportunity to clear his units and put him behind in farming. I had 2 academy levels under research for light ships but they wouldn't be ready in time. Waiting any longer would have ruined any chance of a surprise attack, as I knew biremes wold be coming in soon. At the time there were about 6 players on the server that even had the academy levels to build biremes.
I launched around 4am his time. If you would like to see my excel sheet tracking ryans online times on skype for the past 5 weeks I will send you a copy. If I made a mistake it was in assuming ryan had a life like the rest of us to tend to. I can say a certain mistake ryan made was sending me a skype message after the attacks were sent. In doing that I was able to recall 60 horsemen.
Given the exact same situation I would come to the exact same order of action. On Ryans part, I think given the same situation he would decide not to reply on skype letting me know that he was up and calling in support. He missed out on another 243 bp.

True, but can you assume that someone like Ryan is going to be online when the rest of us are (our time)? I would not. Anyways, why couldn't you wait another 24 hours for when you probably would have had LS?

ok aurave that sounds like a decent explanation but it's true that tracking ryan's online times makes no sence at all because he is almost all the time online and he sleeps at extremely odd hours.
