The Battle of EN110, Leontini

Chapter #1
Week 1, 24-09-2018

Top 10 alliances:

1. Confetti – 510.986 points

2. Thermopylae – 488.057 points

3. Sons of Odin – 398.297 points

4. KAOS – 398.045 points

5. Thermopylae II – 387. 850 points

6. VELHA GUARDA – 376.849 points

7. The Blame Game – 354.331 points

8. Never Walk Alone – 321.897 points

9. Avengers – 281.935 points

10. Kleos – 271.903 points

55. True Fear – 10.890 points

Leontini has been open for 7 days, and the players are beginning to drop out of beginner protection. With over 2.000 active players and the rim moving fast, everything says the center of the world will be an absolute bloodbath. Even though the top 10 rankings of alliances look frightening strong, there will surely be losers in the bloodbath, and as we all know, strong players and quitting when getting rimmed often goes hand in hand.

Meanwhile all of the big fish will fight in the center of the world, the alliance which banner I am fighting under has formed a small core in the western rim between ocean 34/35/44/45. For now, everything at the rim is peaceful, but soon enough they will meet with Sons of Odin – if they are still standing, who knows.

The server will truly be fought between tactical geniuses – Confetti is represented by a lot of good players, the enemies would have to watch for especially Van Helsing, EduinBrutus, Yellowhold, Capable, imrcornetto, emmed and Achileus85. But they are not the only dangerous and aggressive players presented in the world – in other alliances there are names such as Jinsl, ErikWijmeersch, Ahr-Ex, Mauro the conquerer, Kurbads, Silver-eyed lion king – and the list goes on.

The next week of the world will be crucial – Thermopylae has already lost some cities to Confetti and Sons of Odin, will Thermopylae already see their downfall within the first weeks of the server, or will they turn the fight in their favour?

"Calm Before The Storm"
Chapter #2

Week 4, 15-10-2018

Top 10 alliances:

1. Confetti – 3.362.780 points (--)

2. VELHA GUARDA – 3.179.840 points (+4)

3. Sons of Odin – 2.789.022 points (--)

4. The Blame Game – 2.707.833 points (+3)

5. Guild of Infidels – 2.567.533 points (?)

6. FAIL – 2.311.507 points (?)

7. Avengers – 1.822.303 points (+2)

8. Thermopylae – 1.405.795 points (-6)

9. True Fear – 1.204.365 points (+46)

10. Order and Chaos – 1.110.882 points (?)

Wars:
Confetti - 88 (Guild of Infidels, The Blame Game) VS Thermopylae - 1

As expected, a lot has changed in EN110 the past month. Confetti who came in at the first place after week 1 still has a comfortable lead, and they have fought their wars with great strength and skill. They are undeniably the main reason behind the collapse of Thermopylae, standing 88-1 against them, and with The Blame Game and Guild of Infidels hitting them too, the fight was always in Confetti’s favour. At the moment Confetti seems to be superior, but there is always something not so great to point out. Even though slaughtering Thermopylae is a great achievement so fast in the start of Leontini, it is noticable to mention Guild of Infidel’s and The Blame Game’s part in this as well. Confetti is cornered by Velha Guarda from northeast, Guild of Infidels in the south, The Blame Game on their southeastern flank, Fail northwest and last but not least Avengers with a great core in the middle of Leontini. All those alliances will probably fight much better than the before spread-out Thermopylae, so where do they grow from now? Furthermore, they are yet to be tested defensively. They surely have a lot of very experienced players, but with experience comes arrogance, how will they react if VELHA GUARDA stops acting like neutral players and hit hard?

VELHA GUARDA - 50 VS Infernal Abyss – 0

Speaking of VELHA GUARDA, they have absolutely slaughtered the alliance called Infernal Abyss. Though this doesn’t seem like a fair fight, they have secured a strong and secure core with no enemies behind them or to flank them yet. When will these guys open up fire for real against the big guys? They have created a reputation of being the Portuguese Vikings, but yet they are to conquer any decent enemy. Looking at the map, they seem to exchange cities between them and FAIL, and besides that there hasn't been any action between them and The Blame Game. The logical prediction would be that they open fire against Confetti – or Confetti opens fire against them. Coming in at #8 overall score in battle points, VELHA GUARDA certainly will be forced to hit some big guys soon, unless they can keep doing Olympics (which they must be #1 at the moment ). Time will tell, but a war between VELHA GUARDA and Confetti is guaranteed to be a bloodbath. Will one come out as a winner, or will they put an end to each other superior reign?

Sons of Odin - 16 VS Avengers (& Guild of Infidels) – 32

Looking at the map, Sons of Odin and Avengers is a natural threat to each other, which has resulted in a war between them which stands in Avengers’ favour. But the war has a twist: While Avengers is taking cities from Sons of Odin west for them, Sons of Odin logically seek west as well – away from the center of the world. While this doesn’t make up for Sons of Odin’s loses, it still tells us something about the war. Coming in at #3 overall score in battle points, Sons of Odin seems to suck all the BP they can against Avengers to their east, meanwhile they expand further to more safe shores in the south and west. Guild of Infidels is at a 5-1 in their favour against Sons of Odin, but they don’t seem to target Sons of Odins, but rather a quite spread-out group of hard-hitting mercenaries at the moment.

Alliances to watch:

#6 FAIL:
Dominating the northwestern area of the server, this alliance cannot be ignored by the alliances above them. They are yet to lose a city cause by war (seems like they have exchanged cities with Guild of Infidels and VELHA GUARDA), and they have some very experienced players who knows what they’re doing. Furthermore, they have a really strong untouched core which will cause problems for the more centered alliances who have 3-4 flanks to watch for. Slaughtering Bethlem Asylum and Order and Chaos, these guys may grow so fast it will soon be too late for the centered alliances to do any real damage to FAIL.

#9 True Fear:
Dropping 10 days late, these guys have secured a small core on the 34/35/44/45 border. With no real competition behind them – yet – they have attacked to the south while staying neutral against Sons of Odin. Growing fast, yet to lose a city and taking cities successfully from Grepo Addicts, Order and Chaos and the other surrounding alliances, these guys still need to hit bigger alliances and/or defend against bigger alliances to really be tested and show their worth.

World news:

Incantation Circle Event started – Who will fall short against the big player’s riches?

The fall of Thermopylae – They only lasted approximately 1 month and fights for survival.

The Alpha Male Kurbads. Ghosted – Rumors says he lost his temper to some people 2bad4him.

Coming in chapter 3 (22/10/2018)
- The war between Sons of Odin and Avengers goes on.
- Thermopylae's final stand continues.

Nice summary of the world so far from a war perspective. any alliances you think might play a large supporting role?

i dont think VG is gonna go to a direct figth against confetti rigth now...for the looks of it they are trying to siege confetti on a close circle to then crush them...
im betting that the next target will be fail...
thats gonna be a nice battle to see

Hmm, Thermopylae's future is either to die or to become a client state IMO, also with all due respect Guild of Infidels is quite mercenaries-ish at the moment until they get their own core.

That could be a good strat for them, it would definitely siege up Confetti. But logically i think Confetti would start to cooperate with FAIL if VG starts attacking FAIL

But then Confetti would be expose to Avengers,The Blame Game and Guild of Infidelis...
because they can all be friends but in the moment that they know they can benefit on jumping on confetti...theyll do it..
or even Blame game and Avengers could be the next target of VG...im betting that VG will open the war at the 3 fronts at the same time by the looks of it...thats why they have half the citys on north center and south of 55 and a nice core byond them...to support an war on that size...
but thats my betting though xD

Well that is why i want to narrate this server, there are 10 competetive alliances with decent chances to win, not the usual 1-2 alliances fighting each other

VG and Fail are the ones to watch this server for sure. rest is very unimpressive so far.

Id say people need to pay attention to the Rimlords the skill the players of that ally posses makes them more then a threat to any alliance, if unchecked they can steamrol the server hue.

Would be great to back up your views with sources/references. Then that would make it 10/10.

2. VELHA GUARDA - 3.743.511 points (--)

3. Confetti - 4.660.666 points (-2)

4. Guild of Infidels - 4.627.036 points (+1)

5. Sons of Odin - 4.520.058 points (-2)

8. True Fear - 2.458.544 points (+1)

9. Sons of Thor - 1.522.148 points (?)

10. Order and Chaos - 1.446.907 points (--)

11. Grepo Addicts - 1.440.888 points

12. Thermopylae - 1.393.268 points

13. Black Dawn - 889.335 points

Wars:

Sides: 110 Golden Maniacs, 110 Golden Infidels, The Blame Game | Thermopylae, Thermopylae II
Players: 170 | 77
Points: 14,253,263 | 1,629,701
Cities: 1574 | 410
Conquest: 291 | 1
ABP: 5,000,904 | 904,156
DBP: 1,543,997 | 2,037,192
5 weeks in Leontini, Thermopylae finally seem to be gone for good, as they have lost nearly all their centered cities to Confetti, Guild of Infidels and The Blame Game. Though it should be nearly impossible for Thermopylae to do a comeback with the lost cities in the center of Leontini and seeing their leader Criki being rimmed, they are not done yet. Attacks on Thermopylae seems to have decreased remarkably, and they are gaining ground in the southern O45/O55. Futhermore, Confetti, Guild of Infidels and The Blame Game now have a new target; VELHA GUARDA. The combination of new targets and less cities to look out for in the center of Leontini, Thermopylae might be able to build a solid core in southern O45/O55, as no one rules those lands for real.

Trivia:
03.10.2018, 11:56 - Old Man. (Thermopylae) has conquered a 4.856 points city from owenlethbridge (Confetti)

Winners of the war: 110 Golden Maniacs, 110 Golden Infidels, The Blame Game

Sides: 110 Golden Maniacs, 110 Golden Infidels, The Blame Game | VELHA GUARDA, FAIL
Players: 170 | 113
Points: 14,272,678 | 8,547,519
Cities: 1576 | 1032
Conquest: 31 | 28
ABP: 5,010,322 | 2,238,785
DBP: 1,549,309 | 1,334,168

Now that Thermopylae have been removed from Confetti, Infidels and Blame Game's core, they are looking for new targets to attack. Everyone knew this would happen, everyone waited for it. Yet again it was not VELHA GUARDA who initiated the war, but now they may feel the consequence of playing safegame for too long. While the fight may seem fair and even, looks can be deceiving. VELHA GUARDA has lost 30 cities and only conquered 7 cities from the opposition, while FAIL have conquered a whooping 21 cities and only lost 1. While VELHA GUARDA seem much weaker than they proclaimed themselves in the start of the server on the externals, FAIL seem to be a very strong alliance who is in total control of northern O44 with VELHA GUARDA meeting them on the border to O54. Not sure if FAIL and VELHA GUARDA is pacted, i am sure they have a NAP and they exchange cities quite often, but how will VELHA GUARDA justify that NAP/Pact if they continue to lose so many cities? It will only be natural for FAIL to start doubting their Portuguese friends. Furthermore, it is noticeable that VELHA GUARDA supported Thermopylae in their last stand. Maybe they tried prolonging their stay in this server because they knew they can't win a massive war, or maybe they did it because of Thermopylae's location. Keeping Thermopylae alive would have made VELHA GUARDA less cornered than they are now. Either way, their investment in Thermopylae has gone horribly wrong, and they are now in a very cornered situation with The Blame Game below them, Confetti flanking them from the west and Guild of Infidels being spread out on a lot of VELHA GUARDA's core islands.

While VELHA GUARDA is struggling, FAIL is thriving. As said before, FAIL is 21-1 against team Confetti, Infidels and Blame Game. Furthermore, they are located in the northern O44 with very little competition as they find themselves being neutral against Sons of Odin, Avengers and True Fear, who they share borders with in peaceful manners. The fight continues, will VELHA GUARDA continue to lose cities, and will FAIL keep hammering the Confetti Guild?
Team of the week: FAIL

Sides: Sons of Odin, Sons of Thor | True Fear, Black Dawn, Avengers
Players: 95 | 151
Points: 6,105,301 | 6,468,477
Cities: 813 | 956
Conquest: 36 | 83
ABP: 2,077,489 | 2,623,101
DBP: 1,400,385 | 1,458,730

Last week i covered the ongoing war between Sons of Odin VS Avengers, and a lot have happened here since last week. While Sons of Odin had a succesful op against Avengers, things has started to look not so well for them. They had what seemed to be a neutral relationship with True Fear while they fought Avengers, but that relationship is now long gone. While losing 27-64 against Avengers, things started to get even worse when True Fear opened a lightning war on them some days ago and already losing 17-2. Meanwhile they have fought against Avengers and True Fear, Black Dawn has started to grow rapidly and flanking them from southern O45. Sons of Odin seem to have bitten off more than they can chew, losing cities rapidly. For how long can Sons of Odin keep fighting the 3 alliances flanking them, and what will their response be? Rumours say there are a lot of doubt and insecurity growing in Sons of Odin's players morale, and they really do need a high morale to turn this around. What started out as one of the strongest alliances in Leontini is now losing too many cities than players can handle, so what went wrong? Looking at the statistics gives a good indication of what the problem might be. After creating Sons of Odin, they created an academy alliance 'Sons of Thor'. This branch has lost a lot of cities compared to Sons of Odin. Eventhough having one of the most secure cores in Leontini, they have simply recruited too many regular players. They need the morale to be high, and with their smaller players considering the easy way out, it is not going to be an easy fight for them. Last but not least, one of their biggest players Lonestar78 ghosted this day today, which could indicate how their morale is at the moment.

Alliances to watch:
#6 FAIL:

Same as last week, these dudes have only lost 1 city to the guild, and taken 22.
Strong untouched core with somewhat neutral and friendly neighbours.
Experienced team.

Alliance of the week.

#8 True Fear:
With only FAIL having a better growth rate the past week, these guys are also on the "alliances to watch" list. Furthermore they are 17-2 against a new war against Sons of Odin and Sons of Thor. Just like FAIL, they have secured a strong core for now, and in the future they could become very dangerous, if they overcome the challenge that Sons of Odin will provide.

#12 Thermopylae:
Having lost almost every city in the center of Leontini, these guys have somewhat relocated in the southern O45/O55, where there is relatively peaceful at the moment. If they continue to grow down there and they establish a solid core before someone comes knocking, these guys are not out of Leontini yet. Fighting the whole server more or less in the center of Leontini is not easy, and therefore i think these guys deserves a spot in "alliances to watch" if they succeed in establishing a solid core in the south.

#13 Black Dawn:

Dropping very late, these guys have grown rapidly, and they already find themselves in top 13. Losing 5-7 against Sons of Odin while being only a quarter of their size, they deserve a spot in "alliances to watch".

World news:
2 major wars have begun

Lonestar78, ghosted

Coming in chapter 4 (29/10/2018)

I'm answering some PMs i've got ingame here once and for all:

1. NO, i'm NOT going to write about botting accusations as, 1. No one is proven to bot, 2. It is against the rule to accuse players of botting and 3. Quite frankly, i don't give a f*** as this is a impartial narration of how Leontini develops.

2. If i'm mistaken about something, please remember i am not an oracle nor a psychic. I only observe and look stats up at Grepolife.com.
