The Delphi Oracle: issue three

The Delphi Oracle
a.k.a TDO

Column 1 What's happening in Delphi?:

In today's news wars, are being fought, new alliances begin to rise on the rim. The only question is will they rise to power or be shot down? The core is busy with the activity of fighting that's right fighting, we can only imagine what else is new. There's also a busy war with the ghosts, they are starting to fight back at the UnRimmable Ghostbusters, but wait it's not as easy as it looks. The ghosts have a new ally in their fight for survival and that's Hades and his underworld "souls of the dead". On many borders though fighting continues to happen and alliances are made within the alliance. Secret pacts are being made to make sure everything stays the same or changes in leadership. Deception, wars are all what Delphi is about, too bad the city name couldn't mean the same as the world, a place of future sight and the prophet lol.

Column 2 Core ocean battles:

Meanwhile what's happening in the core oceans? The fight between ONE* and GSA. ONE* is battling as hard as it can but GSA can put up a fight while it's happening. The question is though which one will win? Things may look promising at some times for either side but it will be a continuous war until a winner is declared. Who do you vouch for? The bear(ONE*) or the wolverine(GSA)?

Column 3 Weekly Beginner tips!:

In this weeks edition of beginner's tips we go into the exciting world of your first battles. Are you getting tired of attacking farming villages, or ghost towns? Would you rather be gaining Battle points instead of resources? Listen to these tips! Grepolis as everyone knows is a war game, so the first thing you must do to have your first battles is to what, build troops, slingers are mainly your first attack units in the game. Your on an island so what would be your first battle to benefit you in battle points. Usually look for a player roughly the same size as you, 2000+ are probably not a good idea to attack if your 1000 points you would probably fight a player who seems to always have troops in its city, this way you can gain a steady flow of battle points until your ready to conquer but that will be covered later!

Column 4 The Interview:

As everyone hoped I was suppose to give the audience an interview from ONE* sadly I don't have one. One interview I meant, anyway instead I interviewed the local ghost on my island and other islands. This one is from the city of Plethora who was just recently conquered.

Me: How do you view Grepolis?

Plethora: I see it as it is, a place where I can lose points constantly until i'm faded into memory.

Me: Wow I never looked at it that way, how do you feel about people conquering you?

Plethora: It's great for me and my citizens but there are always those pesky ghost who seem to attack me politically and raze arms againest you.

Me: How would you like if I conquered you with help from people as well?

Plethora: I would love it, we can give you sooooo much productivity I only ask you keep our name.

Me: Of course i'll keep your name... NOT! Anyway my ships are on my way to conquer you bye!

Plethora: (Silence) Ghosts unite!

As you can see here they weren't very happy about me conquering their city nevertheless we broke through their defenses and they are now destroyed. Next week we hope to interview ONE*.

Column 5 Author's note:

Sorry guys didn't have an interview from ONE but they are always busy though, don't have the time to answer the interview hope they are having fun though! Also if any of my stories have offended you please do not hesitate to ask.

Or a ghostbuster interview:)

Anyway you will see that the ghost that snuck in while we were worried about golf has been rimmed as well:)

But ONE* doesnt seem to be happy with me rimming the ghost as I am revolted in that city:/ Guess some just dont appreciate what us ghostbusters do to keep the scary ghosts at bay:(

The Delphi Oracle

Column 1 Intro to TDO:
In this week’s paper we have another exciting interview! This was a difficult interview to secure with such an elusive subject! There is also an in-depth look at alliances fighting in the rims of oceans 063, 064, 073, 074, 075! Who may rise, who may fall? The intensity of the wars progress both strategically and through military force.

Column 2 Major events:
Major fighters, major power shifts. Which main alliances have gained ground this week? Who will be able to keep afloat amidst the power struggles?
Map_1_Keys.jpg

One have been fighting hard on many fronts this week, GSA, Ark. Angels and Silence visibly forcing their way through. The stats report that GSA have conquered+ 41 cities, Ark. Angels +31, Silence +19 and One* +40 cities.
The current trends could all change rapidly as they often do. Forces can rise or fall so easily from a number of factors.

Rim Spreads
Looking at smaller alliances growth.
This week we will be focusing on the NE rim oceans looking at the top 5* per ocean.
A quick overview of the top 5* per ocean
063 Silence, Kush, Platypus university, Galactica, GSA
064 Cerberus, One, The renegades, Silence, Galactica
073 Army of One, Platypus University, Silence
074 Silence, Foggy Forest, Mayonaze, Galactia, Silence II
075 Arrogant Players club, Silence, Delian Legue, Ark Angels, Dragon Army
Map2_Key.jpg

Looking at the map we can see how the smaller powers fit around the current big guns in this game, who are now assigned one colour for placement reference. Larger alliances have mostly been assigned their own colour and the smaller alliance colours apart for clarity. There is a lack of colour choice on the map system which can make colour assignment difficult. This formation was the best combination that was found. Silence & Silence II are both assigned one colour.
Ocean 64 is especially intriguing as we see many strong sized alliances battle for domination here. This will be an interesting area to watch. Generally Silence appears to be a growing strength around the northern ocean rims working their way through many oceans. How many alliances will be able to keep an even keel next week? Will any capsize? We will have to wait and see.

This week’s interviewee
This week we have a special interview with a restless and vengeful ex-military figure. Captain of the sword ground defence of Atlantis!

I hear you have been causing trouble for the support sent here?
Trouble? This is my city! I am the captain of the defence in this city! Who does this new captain think he is?! Coming into my city with his men?! It is most disrespectful.

I’m sorry to hear that, although it would be fair to say that this city is in need of live protection from enemy grasps?
No! I am perfectly capable of leading the defence here. I have my men stationed around the city, ready to take out the enemy one by one if needs be!

Ah so that is the cause of the random deaths suffered by the support units.
This is the collateral of war! The captain would have understood that when he sent his men in.

I don’t think he would have considered his men to be attacked by ghosts. You realise that by knocking stones and pillars around you are actually destroying what you are protecting?
Collateral damage, that is all it is! This is my city and I will break it down before I give it up!

Ok thank you captain this interview has been most.... interesting. If a little spooky.

Column 4 Beginner's tips:
Spells! When sending a large attack out, if you have spells available cast them. Not as important for effect but to block the victim from casting something that could weaken or expose your attack. Also make sure that LS are plentiful. Troops should never be sent out un-escorted.

Column 5 Author's note:
Sorry this was a little late.
I mean no offence to anyone, if I have caused any please contact me so I can correct it. I hope this has been an interesting and informative read. Thanx. :)

i shall do this weeks issue:

So far in Delphi there has been more and more war which means more and more casualties, o77 there have been 10 less players who have quit after having been conquered. Arks have been in heated combat with newly formed alliance Rebirth Legion who have held their own, the Tax Collectors have been attacking Ark.Academy and taking their share of cites, for a less than 2 million point alliance they sure can fight. They are filled with members who are all strong and they havent mass invited so their average is quite well. Joe Hunt is inactive and arks have decided to take his cites, Liberal Hero was caught to be a traitor and kicked out of Arks and is now on Vacation Mode. There is a scramble for his city when he returns. Hopefully he will give a final fight but knowing Liberal he wont. Delphi Shogunates have been taken to hell my Arks and their leaders sent into vacation mode.
that's my inside look this week

The Arks academy we love to to fight them they are the same size as us, except they are 83 members plus 92 more from their main alliance but we Tax Collectors are 22 members, so we are definitely the same size. lol does guys are good i like them to bad we had to have some trouble they are in our ocean so we must take out does who decline loyal friendship. that's all i have to say fun people though.
