Newspaper The Little Green Man

Why hello forum goers. As I said in my 'Thoughts on this world' thread, I am starting my own newspaper. It will be called 'The Little Green Man,' one of my aliases. The first thing I will be writing about is what alliances seem to think of each other. I have sent questionnaires to the founders of several prominent alliances including the fascinating Capitalist Pigs. Romair has been the first to reply, and his first response alone is enough to demand a post. Here is what he said:

Romair today at 21:56
Well hello DetroitLeprechaun,

I am very familiar with who you are as I pay close attention to the External forums but never bothered to say anything. I've often enjoyed your posts.

Author has written the following:
1. Who do you think is the best alliance leader besides yourself?

Hmm, I would have to say the Leaders Mr. Quiet and Warrior1005 of The Marines. They are a good group.

Author has written the following:
2. Who is the worst alliance leader?

I believe that the worst alliance leader no longer has an alliance to lead. I'll leave it at that without saying any names.

Author has written the following:
3. What alliance is the most overrated?

For the most part I've had respectable dealings with most alliances I've come into contact with. All of them hold up to their reputations and then some.

Author has written the following:
4. What alliance is the most underrated?

I would say alliances like The Outcasts and The Marines. Both of them have a strong teamwork ethic and neither have to bully their own members to accomplish their goals.

Author has written the following:
5. If you could infiltrate any alliance and obtain founder rights, effectively dissolving it, which one would you choose?

I wouldn't. I consider this the tactic weak alliance that is desperate to "survive".

Author has written the following:
6. Who is the biggest noob in the entire server?

That would be the same person who I didn't mention in question #2.

Author has written the following:
7. How would you describe the mentality of your alliance?

Pragmatic and Patient.

Author has written the following:
8. If you were the founder of The Archangels, what would you do?

Persevere, or become a sister alliance to a like minded group.

Author has written the following:
9. Which alliance do you think resembles the stereotypical MRA the closest?

Hard question. I don't spend too much time eyeing other alliances unless they are allies. I wouldn't consider any of my allies to fit that mold.

Author has written the following:
10. What do you think of the alliance Renegades?

So far I have had no dealing with this group.

End message

Based off of what I've heard so far from him, his alliance, Elysium, tends to keep down the straight and narrow. Not too inquisitive it appears. That's the easiest way not to annoy people I suppose, but not my cup of tea. Wait, I don't drink tea. Oh well.

Romair has mentioned an exiled leader of some sort and called him a noob. Romair chose to make said leader anonymous, I do not know his identity. He must have done something quite awful for such secrecy to occur.

After this I inquired about their dealings with The Marines, as I inferred that they were an ally. Here was his response:

Romair today at 22:28
Yes, they are a recent ally. In the little time that we have had dealings with one another their teamwork and spirit have impressed me. To me the quality of an alliance is based on the quality of the people within the alliance. I personally don't care about point value, city or army size, ABP, DBP, whether you are new to the game or a veteran. The only thing that makes my radar is if you are a quality person and can work as part of a team. The Marines have that in abundance.

An interesting point he has made. I myself joined this server with the goal of not working with any arrogant jerks. However, Snapping Turtles will not send you an invite unless your city is what we would consider 'functional.' His response here could potentially lead to Elysium and The Marines being called an MRA.

Later in the interview, I asked him for his definition of an MRA. This is what he said:
"To me an MRA is any alliance who massively recruits for the sole purpose of having more people and more points. Even if that means they have to antagonize and bully the players into joining. I've always disliked those who recruit by farming someone until they join. This does not lead to loyal players or a decent alliance." He seems to believe that MRAs are aggressive, which is contrary to the common belief.

Now you know what's up. Other than the sky.

Hassan Al-Sabbah has replied with some comical responses but a lack of insight due to several 'no opinion' answers. Here's what he said:

Hassan al-Sabbah today at 22:37
1. Who do you think is the best alliance leader besides yourself?
Haven't had much dealings with other leaders, but of the ones I have talked to berani of Dragoms of Atlantis seems pretty good.
6. Who is the biggest noob in the entire server?
Probably me, cause I'm still learning a lot ..
7. How would you describe the mentality of your alliance?
Learn how to play the game and have fun
8. If you were the founder of The Archangels, what would you do?
Renounce violence and merge with Capitalist Pigs .. roflmao
9. Which alliance do you think resembles the stereotypical MRA the closest?
Chaos Brigade
10. What do you think of the alliance Renegades?
Don't know much about them but I know you hate them .. lol

End message

Two thumbs up for calling yourself a noob. Very interesting that he calls Chaos Brigade, the #1 alliance, an MRA. He says they sent an unescorted attack to his alliance.
Wow I'm loving that last answer of his :p

Not a bad start DL. Unfortunately you'll find me a lot more boring .. I really haven't had enough dealings with other alliances to have formed much of an opinion, especially not the really large ones. But I look forward to reading your other interviews.

The Obliterator, founder of Armageddons Eclipse, has submitted his answers! Very well written and entertaining. Uninteresting answer omitted:

The Obliterator today at 23:29
1. Who do you think is the best alliance leader besides yourself?
This is a hard question to answer. Does my reflection count as a separate entity?

2. Who is the worst alliance leader?
I am sure there are plenty of Leaders that deserve this spot BUT I can only comment on the ones whom I know first hand and I must say that "Deadly40000" and "Azraton" sure does take the cake on this one! I would love to go in to detail but I will save it for another article of yours.

3. What alliance is the most overrated?
Months ago I would have said The Arch Angels but the cat is already out of the bag on that one. So I will submit a new name to the bunch and that would be.......Divine Emblem.

4. What alliance is the most underrated?
Again with a hard question, there are many alliances I think that go unnoticed when they should be washed and maybe even applauded for their quick success. New World.. small yet interesting Alliance. Snapping Turtles.. to the North East small yet impressive stats for their size along with others I am sure but these 2 I consider note worthy for their own respective reasons.

5. If you could infiltrate any alliance and obtain founder rights, effectively dissolving it, which one would you choose?
Renegades because their leadership sucks and I have no clue what they are even doing here!
Divine Emblem because one of their Leaders is a complete an utter jerk and is assuredly leading his alliance to an edge off a cliff.

7. How would you describe the mentality of your alliance?
ambitious, cautious, trusting, patient, and adaptable!

8. If you were the founder of The Archangels, what would you do?
Chop up and condense make the alliance truly manageable and supportable.

9. Which alliance do you think resembles the stereotypical MRA the closest?
Arch Angels, renegades, and metal mulisha.

10. What do you think of the alliance Renegades?
Everyone better sit down for this one........
*reclining in my chair. Looking up towards the sky trying to summon parts of the endless thoughts pertaining to the ever increasing uselessness called Renegades...................................................................................................................................................fell asleep.

End message

It appears that Renegades is considered the scum of the pond by the #4 alliance in the game as well as by me. Divine Emblem and Metal Mulisha are also viewed as MRAs by AE. I will look into that. T.O. has once again stated his centralize the alliance plan he wants The Archangels to implement.

After more interviews are completed I will create a total assessment post that shows the overall opinion of the alliances mentioned and interviewed.

SYNDICATE has finally replied with this threat:

vayn vangaard today at 05:52
go away or ill empty all your cities and destroy all your walls

End message.

They look like some real jerks. Avoid working with them.

Time for my next segment! I will be interviewing gregflint first and then going into more depth on the alliances that have something to show.

Well, Red from the Renegades tried to "Use Diplomacy." Here's the convo, interesting enough on its own. Read bottom to top:

DetroitLeprechaun on 2012-11-04 at 15:09
So you want a NAP? That's still gonna be a big fat NO. Fighting against your alliance is giving my alliance tons of battle points, way more than you guys are getting. Especially when you guys try to go on the offensive lol that was bad.

Diplomacy isn't always the best option. On this server it's all about the battle points. Sorry to have to put it so bluntly, but I guess what I'm saying is, "Join or fight"
RedX1708 on 2012-11-04 at 15:06
Hey again :)
Now as diplomat i feel it's my duty to try all options, so how about a cease fire agreement ?
As opposed to a pact, that could work for the benefit of both alliances.
We could even have it on a trial basis for a limited period to see how it works out.
As for people making fun of us, well let em lol. Won't ruin my sleep one way or the other.
I do however believe that diplomacy is the best solution in the long run.
Semper fidelis and all that stuff lol

Hello Red. Glad to see that you guys actually know how to use the messaging system lol.

Now, I, being an experienced leader, see your threat here, but I like how you have still tried to make it sound friendly.

Here's what this situation reminds me of: The movie 300 when the Persian messenger tries to make Leonidas give up his earth and water. Except this time, Leonidas isn't outnumbered so badly.

So here is my response: I'm going to have to say NO. Your alliance is the scum of this server at the moment, all respect to yourself as a player. It is not the fault of your members, but of your leader, Deadly4000. Do you not see that he has made you guys the laughing stock of Hyperborea? There's an entire thread on the External Servers where people make fun of you guys! Come on. Sorry, Red, but no deal.

However, if some of you guys in the area wanted to join us, that would be acceptable.

With honor,
(Banner)

Hey :)
I'm appointed diplomat with the Renegades.
It seems that you turtles have been snapping at us for a while, and before this could turn into a full scale war, we figured we'd try and negotiate first.
Now memberwise we are a larger alliance and if we pulled together all our resources we could probably hurt you badly. On the other hand we'd very likely take heavy losses ourself, while other alliances could watch us at each others throats, waiting until we were both vulnerable.
Seems kinda pointless to me, so why not make a pact before it comes to that ?
With respect

As you can see, they are scared. Scared of a bunch of turtles. I must say that I like this particular line of his:
"It seems that you turtles have been snapping at us for a while"
You can say that again. All of their counter attacks have been whimsical little things, sunk in the water.

It would appear that their Diplomat was trained first hand by his Founder Deadly40000 in the art of "what am I doing here again?!?"

First he tries the friendly threat message and when you pretty much spit in his face he replies with a please don't hurt me message lol.

wow they cease to amaze me!

I wouldn't be surprised it turns out that Red is Deadly's brother from the way he negotiates

either that or he is really deadly under another account!

looking around..... there is a conspiracy going on around here and I don't like it one bit.

Gregflint is yet to open my message. Could it be that the #1 player has gone inactive?

Also, Calistus of The Nazgul plans to respond to my initial questions soon

no i'm not related to Deadly :) Matter of fact i hardly know the guy. I was asked to approach you, which i did.
That it came to nothing, well that's life lol.
Can't however see that should be a reason to diss me on a personal level, but feel free :)

Red, it's a bit of an ongoing joke that your alliance has very bad leadership. To be honest, you're probably the best leader in your entire alliance. And kudos for joining the External Forums!

RED, relax instead of taking it personally join in the conversation. Plus DL is right thanks for joining the Ex Forums and hopefully you will stick around more often unlike your fearless leader Deadly40000, by the way have you guys found him? is he okay?

hehe ye he's alive and well as far as i know :)
Anyway i'm not really taking it personally. But i admit i felt slightly offended by DL saying that i came creeping asking "plz don't hurt us".
I did nothing of the sort.
I approached him suggesting a pact and after being turned down , came back and suggested a (maybe limited) cease fire.
Hell, this is what diplomats are supposed to do i would think. But i creep to no one :)
Water under the bridge tho. I'll see you guys later :)
