Hello again and welcome to the second issue of The WoE News! Its been awhile in coming but as many may well be aware real life gets quite busy during the summer and even more if you have a family to spend that valuable time with. If you have been waiting and checking many times for this to come out then by all means I give my appologies for making you wait. Now for this issue we will have as we did in the last interviews from members of WoE and allies/enemies. News of WoE activities or comments, So please read and enjoy!

Interviews:

Dalmasio - Mad Tea Party -

What do you think of WoE?

It's an alliance I don't trust at all. Any alliance that doesn't have a good profile picture and a weird imp is never a good thing.
What do you think the future holds for WoE?

I think second place, or third or maybe even disbanding because they want an invite to the very mad tea party.

Who was your strongest opponent?

StarCharlie from Blackwatch. Since the start of Sigma I've been fighting her to get her to leave Black Watch and join us but she keeps on shooting me down like no other. She's amazing in her loyalty and I will continue to pester her to join us - when she starts responding to my mails again :)

Who was your weakest opponent?

I've never attacked anyone weak - morale in Sigma does not allow it. It's a shame really - there is plenty of noob sauce in sigma - but they are protected by morale mechanics.

What do you think of the current wars going on?

Wildly distorted to say the least. Right now everything seems to be a skirmish - a real war is when your facing over 100 attacks on one city. Until that happens there will be no real war. I don't think Sigma is designed to be a world where full on wars can break out like what's going on in Epsilon. This is because due to the speed of the server the world was not able to mature at a slower pace - think about Epsilon and the sheer number of quality alliances that were before - Mad Melons, Absolute power, I.R.S, The Renaissance, Pandemic, Yo Serious and last but not least - the EPIC, UTTERLY Beautiful and TRULY magnificent The Enlightened.

In Sigma - the main alliances (with good leadership) dominated very early on - worked closely with another alliance (due to alliance cap) and continued to dominate. This prevents true wars i.e 1 alliance VS 1 alliance. Also, the types of players sigma has is in general FAR poorer and of lower quality than compared to other servers - this is due to I believe many of the top plauyers of the other worlds leaving Sigma very early on as it's not as fun playing with 100 + cities and then having to start with just 1. That coupled with the 2.0 feature not being as great as all had hoped. Couple that with Sigma handicap of having a limited alliance cap - meaning no alliance being able to fully dominate 2 oceans fully without help from a pact member. All in all I dont think Sigma will ever see any major wars simply because for many it is a SECONDARY priority.

This is a very long answer and if you have all continued to keep reading - well done and give yourself a big hug. The question in itself is complex as to answer it with any honesty - you have to take into account many different factors.

Anything you would like to say or tell us about MTP?

Some of us started out in an alliance called Grand Lethal - then it got disbanded and two people founded The Mad Tea Party
I think The Mad Tea Party was founded by one of the most unique individuals I've ever had the pleasure to play with and it is a testament to him that the alliance works the way in does. We have a very special heirachy here, it really is strange. The founder of the alliance speaks when needed and is the only player I've ever come across who I know I could never beat. The Leaders are exceptional - it's not often you can be in an alliance where you can completely disagree with them and they with you - but when needed - they ALWAYS have your back.

But The Mad Tea Party would be nothing without it's members - who's experiance of grepolis ranges from the noobiest to the uber experianced. It makes no odds in the end - because once you're a part of The Mad Tea Party - we are together.

However, I cannot finish this interview without saying a special Thank You to Black Watch. They have been with us since the start of Sigma and that's no secret - many alliances have tried tried to split us up but we've always stood by each other and will continue to do so.

On that note - to the haters out there I would like to end by saying "Suck it Noobs!"

Mellowmalt - Warriors of Epsilon -

What do you think of WoE?

Us Warriors are Wone Orsome Elliance.
Even though we are geared towards attacking we still hold the record for highest defending alliance in this world.

Other alliances just can't handle our success so they feel they need to take us down a peg but it just makes us grow stronger and stronger working together closely to beat all odds.
Have we met a challenge yet? Several. Have we been discouraged? Never.

What do you think the future holds for WoE?

We will continue to grow spreading the Warrior flag to further lands. Make some new friends and some new enemies.
Most importantly we will crush a lot of troops. I'm eager to see what the era of Wonders holds for WoE. That will be an entire new chapter in our future and our troops are ready with hammer and chisel in hand to build some mighty fine wonders other alliances will be eager to check out. We have made plans for swimming pools, casinos and all kinds of entertainment in our wonders.
Look closely once our wonders are built and you will see me chillin in the royal suite of our hotel add on :)

How has your time been here in WoE?

I've had a great time. This is the best alliance I have been in. The game is so much more enjoyable when you know your team mates have your back when you need it. We have seen several alliances fall because there was no team spirit. Here in WoE if you prove yourself to be a Warrior you will be treated as one by the rest of the alliance.
I enjoy chatting to several like minded people here who like to win as much as I do so it's great to know this group.

Who was your strongest opponent?

Hmm. Tricky question. Real tricky. I have met many obstacles, all differnt and all needing a specialised plan to take them down whether they used turtling techniques (Iron Tiger) or amazingly accurate sniping skills (Rychemaster) or whether they were able to rebuild troops as fast as I could kill them (paras), respect to those players, I think overall the strongest opponent has to be ljuba.

No specific skill, very little unfortunately but an entire alliances worth of troops sent to him and him alone or get booted? makes him a target equivalent to trying to destroy a tank with a bow and arrow. But as with marknobody, ex-leader of NOTHING, eventually his members revolted and mr nobody quit playing.

Who was your weakest opponent?

Romkis25

What do you think of the current wars going on?

This is a war game. Without these virtual wars this game would not be as much fun playing. Well this is coming from a Warriors point of view. I know there are people who's aim is to build their city up to the max and then admire it heehee, we have come across a lot of players like that who would rather pact every alliance around them to protect their precious cities but in the long run will it work? We shall see. That is something I cannot answer just yet.
So far the hand holding coalition has been strong willed in keeping us out of their ocean and they even stepped out of their comfort zone and declared WAR. Yes even ants can take down a horse if there are enough ants. But not always. It is summer time so the ants are all on summer holidays and taking advantage of their free time. We shall see what happens next. So far we have had some spectacular victories and some unfortunate losses including losing a couple of our key players due to lack of time.
It should have worked in their favour a lot more to be honest. We are at war with the odds against us, that is what we like to do, accept a challenge and even though the odds are against us we are standing strong and gaining alot of bp against players eager to send their troops to drown at sea.
So far it is us against the ants and I am waiting for another horse to join in. We all know who I am talking about here I think.
4 main oceans. 3 of those oceans have been secured. 1 ocean has been filled with a bunch of ants.
We have definetely come to a point where alliances' wars are not local anymore and are starting an era of cross continental world wars, fighting Foes of Woe further out, making conquering alot trickier for both sides involved. Several 24 hour cs's have been sent!

The war will continue and may the strongest alliance win.

Continued - (It was a bit long to fit it all)

Khalni Hydra - War Machine -

1) What are your thoughts of WoE?

WoE are a great bunch of talented and experienced players. They are well organized and have a strong leadership. It is even fun to fight against them, just for the thrill. Although I like some of WoE players and respect them, I think there is no big deal fighting against them you even learn more about them and may become even better friends.

2)What do you think of the war with WoE?

The war of WoE has brought the alliances in oc54 again together. When we fought against TG the alliances were united and so could beat the top dog in oc54. Actually I dont see a big meaning in fighting WoE. However I have to admit that the latest recruits in our ocean caused the problem. Most of them were hated and most players made bad experiences with them in former times. The devil is in the detail.

3) What do you see for the future of Ocean 54?

The future of oc54 is as unpredictable as the weather. Ocean 54 is full of surprises. It is a constant up and down and it keeps things here very exciting. The so called hot spot (oc 54) has a long and weird history. At one day it looks like everything calms down here and on the other day the tempers are up set. Personally I think the numbers of alliances in our ocean will shrink.

4) What do you think will happen when world wonders come out?

As it looks now Mad Tea Pary, WoE and D.N. will match their selves to be number one. War Machine play at the moment no big role, due to the big wars they have since the world has started. I mean everyone had big challenges, but WM was the under dog since the beginning and survived because close teamwork and some players who were highly active and also kinda experienced.

5)Anything you would like to share with us about War Machine?

War Machine became more and more a big family and works now like a well oiled machine with one gear fitting to the other. Of course we are not that close to perfection other alliance are right now, but we are developing rapidly. We were proofed very often, had troubles and come out stronger. All in all I enjoy the time, because it was never boring here.

Rychemaster - South East Syndicate -

How are things going in SES?

Great actually. The old guns are blazing and the newer members have all settled in and active war is on all over. After our O46 chapter merged with No Name, we're completely focussed on the SE Quadrant of the map and the big bad SES war machine is now rearing its evil head..

How has the war been going lately with WoE?

Well i dont know how it looks from the other side, but from this side of the divide it looks like the tide is turning. Politically, the 54 debacle cost woe heavily and its repurcussions will be visible on the military front in the coming months. We're seeing members being forced to quit under pressure (and some out of boredom), and the now fabled 20 WoE incomings of 250 ls each are a thing of the past.. Time will tell though, but my money is on WoE not lasting too long into the Wonder Era..

What do you think of the current wars going on in Sigma?

Not really aware of too many wars. WoE vs everybody around them is fun to watch.. I dont know what Mad Tea Party is up to but i still havent heard of them taking the fight straight to another alliance.. D.N. is still D.N. and dont look like anybody's messing with them much.

Who has been the strongest opponent for you?

MellowMalt is good. He has variety, aggression, tact and a complete lack of things to do in RL which make him a good Grepo opponent.

Who has been the weakest opponent for you?

I dont attack weak opponents, and they're too scared of me to attack anyways... Of course, there is always Knightsofa , but if he reads this he'll immediately launch another CS at me, so nobody tell him pls.

What does the future hold for SES?

The usual. Gore. Bloodshed. Celebrations in our internal forums..

Ljuba - Dushan The Mighty -

What are your thoughts on WoE?

1. I think that WoE so far shows power but that power is without brain. Results are clearly visible.

What do you think of the war with WoE?

2.WoE mistake was that they received lot of W.T.F.R members, but very few prove their value. Because of that they left your alliance when war started, simply they run away from battle.

What do you see for the future of Ocean 54?

3. I think that in the future all alliances in 54 will merge in one.

What do you think will happen when world wonders come out?

4. If one ww is allowed per alliance, 4 alliances can merge and win the server.

Anything you would like to share with us about Dushan The Mighty?

5. I think that you have enough impressions about DTM.

jordn32 - D.N. -

What do you think of WoE?

1. Never really been around you but I've heard great things and see you have a lot of active and good members. Looks like a good alliance.

What do you think the future holds for WoE?

2. The future looks good I think I see you have a lot of wars going on and maybe that will be your downfall but I hope not :). I see that you have wars going on that have actually taken some of yours cities is dushan the mighty and kitten smashers so hopefully there not so mighty and you can smash them.

Who was your strongest opponent?

3. I have just recently moved down to 45 a bit but Mr. Robert was been on VM so I haven't really fought him but so far my strongest has to No Name because thats the only real opponent I've faced so far I guess. They'll only got a few strong members but those that are good are.. good. Very good with timing.

Who was your weakest opponent?

4.Like I said No Name is only one I've really faced but my weakest would have to be a guy I attacked for BP and he sent me a "threatening" mail that he was going to take my cities.. so I attacked back and to date I've gotten 7 of his Cses on my wall.

What do you think of the current wars going on?

5. Current wars D.N VS PN/PR/Ruthless kind of at a standstill with most of PR's good players in VM and PN isn't doing too well against us. D.N vs No Name (SES merged with them and so did Republic). Been going ok they outnumber us 2:1 in 46 but we hold our own.. they seem to be retreating deeper south and into 56 some. been a back and forth but we're doing very well and have taken more of theres then they have ours so we're winning in my book :).

Anything you would like to say or tell us about D.N.?

6. D.N amazing alliance lots of strong aggressive players with my style of play. I also really like the members personality's and enjoy playing with them and joking around with them. I think we're doing really well and still dominating the ABP rankings which I love. and to Mr. Roberhood watch out when you come out of VM :p.

Last Bit for WoE News...

Onto Ocean News:

This month has been filled with lots of fighting from all around but mainly from WoE's stand point since they seem to be facing the most opposition at this time. We find ourselves in an admittedly weakened state up north past the 55/54 border. For most to know whats going on the full story would need to be heard but I'll sum it up as best I can.

We recruited some members from W.T.F.R and The Gathering, About 10 I believe all together if that. While trying to make a strong pact with WM things went south with the rest of 54 as they saw us as a threat and rightfully so...were WoE and that says it all. ;) But we never had any intentions of entering into 54. Well, After many talks and discussions we finally agreed on a small area past the 55/54 border line that would have been an agreed conquest area and the members inside of 54 were suppose to be moving into that area and into 55. Trouble here and there with the members needing to get closer to the border or to stop conquering within 54 started to happen and many of our conquests were being broken on ghosts as they tried to move. Attacks began on a few of our members and as our policy has always been if they arent green then they are red or at least up for being attacked. Then from there on it just got messy...We asked or tried to push War Machine to take over thier Ocean and then we would secure the border. Things didnt go as planned and well now we face a coalition of alliances coming at us from the north. Down south we still have Res, SES, Nothing and the remnants of any other alliances out there. As you can see here - WoE has their hands full.

Many cities we have lost but Belona quit due to "Never losing a city and wont lose one now so I'm quitting sigma" or something like that. Tays quit due to not wanting to play sigma any longer I suppose. Legion quit due to the fact I doubt he liked our rules and just didnt fit in with the rest of us. From here on they started dropping one by one or the activity level dropped to about nothing. We kept them with us to try and eat up what cities we could for as long as we could so no one else would know they were inactive. We also try to keep certain accounts around until we find a good player from Epsilon to get it under control. Most of this war has been the coalition taking inactives from us but I wont deny they have taken a few from us that were from active members. Take in mind they arent working alone and you get how this happens....
Anyways, With all this chaos I believe were doing quite well. In the start of Sigma we were attacked right out for being a large threat of experienced and organized players. We lost many cities back then but as a few players said then your just removing the dead weight. So we find ourselves in deja vu....Your removing our dead weight and making us stronger for it. When we get where we want you all will know the true power of WoE but for now we will continue to move into position.

Other Information:

With all the threats surrounding WoE I doubt that we will be out any time soon. Its summer so activity becomes minimal from all around but when summer ends (and its coming) you will see a resurrected WoE full of life once more. As WoE has a life I wont deny that we are at a activity low right now...sorry you cant do more to us even in this state. :p Oh and wont that be fun?! They will return just in time to see our beautiful Wonder Islands! Hero World here we come!

You have read the second issue so please state your responses, Thoughts and Ideas. Thank you for reading and I do really hope you have enjoyed it!

4. If one ww is allowed per alliance, 4 alliances can merge and win the server.
I wonder who are the 88 players they will take when O54 merge or when 4 alliances merge, do this mean that they are only using those other members of their alliance till the time the 4 wonders (1 each for 1 alliance) are build then kick them all, merge and win the server?:heh:

If this is the plan then its not so ...:p

Lol Yep Dushan the Mighty Turtle has much more brains than WoE that they hit their own support :D

yesterday's dbp was purely from WM/KS/Dushan/BF supports in my city. I say that was the smartest thing any alliance could've done

edit:

PS. Dushan's top attacker is llalicc at rank 41 abp (almost half mine and I haven't been attacking much lately), next is Ervod at rank 90 who isn't an original Dushan, for some reason I don't think you're in a position to brag since you've only managed to conquer inactives or doing cheap shots after WM/KS did the hard work. Again, to prove you're good, try my cities, it's been a while since someone asked how do I live with the ego, here's the answer, 78k dbp and 1 week after the first CS attempt, my O54 city number hasn't decreased and all have full population.

let us not forget the mighty dushs resorting to supporting their failed conquest attempt this week with ls

I haven't seen moves like that in O55 since the beginning when players that had no clue were rimmed very swiftly.

No brainer :p

Lets not forget my lonely O-55 city now... The city that earned me defender of the day :)

Not to mention that this wasn't all the attacks, this was just the first wave of attacks... And the fact that there was only my own troops in the city, no support from any alliance member or coalition member.

A question, for a stacked enemy city what other way is there to conquer it? your cities were in 64 and 54 so we couldn't get you to pull your defensives out by distraction, the only way is to go head to head, you pulled your troops out because you know you couldn't hold it. That earned you 10+k dbp you were lucky to get defender of the day because a few days later I started to average 20k dbp a day and still no defender of the day. But it also earned our members good abp. The Dushan members I'm talking about has 80% defensives, all they can do is turtle, turtle, cheap shot, inactive, turtle more.

Well I think you can see where I am coming from correct? Don't let a single action ruin the reputation all of Dushan members. Not every players playing personality is the same, and each go about it their own way. You don't all of us bashing on WoE as a whole correct? So why go and bash on the entire DTM alliance. I am simply attempting to stick up for my alliance as a whole, not on an individual level. And yes I am lucky to receive defender of the day, and it was roughly more than 15k if I a correct. Point is, not everyone in DTM uses external forums, neither does the majority of coalition members. Like I have/ we have stated before, not all of us are in direct vicinity to defend or create a reputation other than words.

I attempted to do something for my self by seizing a 2.4k city almost 45 hours away in O-55 (turning it into a 4k city in less than a day, creating and developing a wall to level 20+ and creating a tower), and hoping killing off a dozen or so offensive nukes. Granting the fact I couldn't hold off any navy units due to fact I went at this operation alone, and did not seek any naval/defensive support in advance. As a few WoE players know, I did in fact accomplish a personal goal of killing off a good amount offensive units. I mean I do believe I a have some room to say I accomplished something.

Yes I agree you did well on your own, and I wasn't criticising the whole of DtM, it's just members like Ljuba who ruin the alliance. I'm saying that because during one of the ops he hit me from land, and saw that I had over 1.5k biremes in the harbour, while everyone else is sending LS to try to break the biremes he just sat there quietly until when the CS was supposed to hit he sends land support. That is just purely the definition of selfishness, for many times he only launched CS's at players when War Machine or his fellow Dushans cleared the city out.

That is why I'm accusing him of not having done enough to make the comment that WoE has the power but not the brain, because he seems to have neither. I admit with KS and WM now joined together, they have a slightly better chance at taking a city off me, but at the rate Dushan's leadership is going, it will remain their fantasy
