Hello again and welcome to the second issue of The WoE News! Its been awhile in coming but as many may well be aware real life gets quite busy during the summer and even more if you have a family to spend that valuable time with. If you have been waiting and checking many times for this to come out then by all means I give my appologies for making you wait. Now for this issue we will have as we did in the last interviews from members of WoE and allies/enemies. News of WoE activities or comments, So please read and enjoy!
Interviews:
Dalmasio - Mad Tea Party -
What do you think of WoE?
It's an alliance I don't trust at all. Any alliance that doesn't have a good profile picture and a weird imp is never a good thing.
What do you think the future holds for WoE?
I think second place, or third or maybe even disbanding because they want an invite to the very mad tea party.
Who was your strongest opponent?
StarCharlie from Blackwatch. Since the start of Sigma I've been fighting her to get her to leave Black Watch and join us but she keeps on shooting me down like no other. She's amazing in her loyalty and I will continue to pester her to join us - when she starts responding to my mails again
Who was your weakest opponent?
I've never attacked anyone weak - morale in Sigma does not allow it. It's a shame really - there is plenty of noob sauce in sigma - but they are protected by morale mechanics.
What do you think of the current wars going on?
Wildly distorted to say the least. Right now everything seems to be a skirmish - a real war is when your facing over 100 attacks on one city. Until that happens there will be no real war. I don't think Sigma is designed to be a world where full on wars can break out like what's going on in Epsilon. This is because due to the speed of the server the world was not able to mature at a slower pace - think about Epsilon and the sheer number of quality alliances that were before - Mad Melons, Absolute power, I.R.S, The Renaissance, Pandemic, Yo Serious and last but not least - the EPIC, UTTERLY Beautiful and TRULY magnificent The Enlightened.
In Sigma - the main alliances (with good leadership) dominated very early on - worked closely with another alliance (due to alliance cap) and continued to dominate. This prevents true wars i.e 1 alliance VS 1 alliance. Also, the types of players sigma has is in general FAR poorer and of lower quality than compared to other servers - this is due to I believe many of the top plauyers of the other worlds leaving Sigma very early on as it's not as fun playing with 100 + cities and then having to start with just 1. That coupled with the 2.0 feature not being as great as all had hoped. Couple that with Sigma handicap of having a limited alliance cap - meaning no alliance being able to fully dominate 2 oceans fully without help from a pact member. All in all I dont think Sigma will ever see any major wars simply because for many it is a SECONDARY priority.
This is a very long answer and if you have all continued to keep reading - well done and give yourself a big hug. The question in itself is complex as to answer it with any honesty - you have to take into account many different factors.
Anything you would like to say or tell us about MTP?
Some of us started out in an alliance called Grand Lethal - then it got disbanded and two people founded The Mad Tea Party
I think The Mad Tea Party was founded by one of the most unique individuals I've ever had the pleasure to play with and it is a testament to him that the alliance works the way in does. We have a very special heirachy here, it really is strange. The founder of the alliance speaks when needed and is the only player I've ever come across who I know I could never beat. The Leaders are exceptional - it's not often you can be in an alliance where you can completely disagree with them and they with you - but when needed - they ALWAYS have your back.
But The Mad Tea Party would be nothing without it's members - who's experiance of grepolis ranges from the noobiest to the uber experianced. It makes no odds in the end - because once you're a part of The Mad Tea Party - we are together.
However, I cannot finish this interview without saying a special Thank You to Black Watch. They have been with us since the start of Sigma and that's no secret - many alliances have tried tried to split us up but we've always stood by each other and will continue to do so.
On that note - to the haters out there I would like to end by saying "Suck it Noobs!"

Mellowmalt - Warriors of Epsilon -
What do you think of WoE?
Us Warriors are Wone Orsome Elliance.
Even though we are geared towards attacking we still hold the record for highest defending alliance in this world.
Other alliances just can't handle our success so they feel they need to take us down a peg but it just makes us grow stronger and stronger working together closely to beat all odds.
Have we met a challenge yet? Several. Have we been discouraged? Never.
What do you think the future holds for WoE?
We will continue to grow spreading the Warrior flag to further lands. Make some new friends and some new enemies.
Most importantly we will crush a lot of troops. I'm eager to see what the era of Wonders holds for WoE. That will be an entire new chapter in our future and our troops are ready with hammer and chisel in hand to build some mighty fine wonders other alliances will be eager to check out. We have made plans for swimming pools, casinos and all kinds of entertainment in our wonders.
Look closely once our wonders are built and you will see me chillin in the royal suite of our hotel add on
How has your time been here in WoE?
I've had a great time. This is the best alliance I have been in. The game is so much more enjoyable when you know your team mates have your back when you need it. We have seen several alliances fall because there was no team spirit. Here in WoE if you prove yourself to be a Warrior you will be treated as one by the rest of the alliance.
I enjoy chatting to several like minded people here who like to win as much as I do so it's great to know this group.
Who was your strongest opponent?
Hmm. Tricky question. Real tricky. I have met many obstacles, all differnt and all needing a specialised plan to take them down whether they used turtling techniques (Iron Tiger) or amazingly accurate sniping skills (Rychemaster) or whether they were able to rebuild troops as fast as I could kill them (paras), respect to those players, I think overall the strongest opponent has to be ljuba.
No specific skill, very little unfortunately but an entire alliances worth of troops sent to him and him alone or get booted? makes him a target equivalent to trying to destroy a tank with a bow and arrow. But as with marknobody, ex-leader of NOTHING, eventually his members revolted and mr nobody quit playing.

What do you think of the current wars going on?
This is a war game. Without these virtual wars this game would not be as much fun playing. Well this is coming from a Warriors point of view. I know there are people who's aim is to build their city up to the max and then admire it heehee, we have come across a lot of players like that who would rather pact every alliance around them to protect their precious cities but in the long run will it work? We shall see. That is something I cannot answer just yet.
So far the hand holding coalition has been strong willed in keeping us out of their ocean and they even stepped out of their comfort zone and declared WAR. Yes even ants can take down a horse if there are enough ants. But not always. It is summer time so the ants are all on summer holidays and taking advantage of their free time. We shall see what happens next. So far we have had some spectacular victories and some unfortunate losses including losing a couple of our key players due to lack of time.
It should have worked in their favour a lot more to be honest. We are at war with the odds against us, that is what we like to do, accept a challenge and even though the odds are against us we are standing strong and gaining alot of bp against players eager to send their troops to drown at sea.
So far it is us against the ants and I am waiting for another horse to join in. We all know who I am talking about here I think.
4 main oceans. 3 of those oceans have been secured. 1 ocean has been filled with a bunch of ants.
We have definetely come to a point where alliances' wars are not local anymore and are starting an era of cross continental world wars, fighting Foes of Woe further out, making conquering alot trickier for both sides involved. Several 24 hour cs's have been sent!
The war will continue and may the strongest alliance win.
