What's up with all these guest players?

There are a large number of guest players. What are they?

A guest player is a player who joined with either facebook or a type of app, I forget which. They get a temporary name, guest12345 etc, and if they stick around they are able to change their name to an actual one.

players who join off app dont pick a world or anything and not got a grepo acount
