World Wonders resource trading

It's been a few years since I played in a world during the WW era.
Back then only the cities that were on the island with the wonder construction could trade resources directly to the wonder construction.
All other players had to trade resources to the cities on the island and they would forward the resources.
Someone in my alliance has suggested that has changed and anyone can trade resources directly to the wonder construction.
Is this true?

I thought I remembered favor trading to reduce construction time could be sent directly but not resources.

Every member of alliance can directly send resources as well as favor to its world wonder. However, keep on mind, you need to be a member of an ally at least 72 hours. If you aren't, then you can only wait & send resources to another ally member.
