As Epsilon Ends....

Well just figured we could all come together to share something from our experience in Epsilon that actually made the game for us. Just say anything at all about what made Epsilon great for you and whats one thing you remember from your whole time here in this world.

What battle was your favorite or most rememberable?

What alliance was the greatest?
Who were the greatest?

What players made the most impact during your play?

Whats the worst battle?
Who has been the worst player?


You can answer any or all of these questions or even just speak about whatever you want but just wanting to hear some good tells about some of the great things that have happened here in Epsilon.


For Me -

My first alliance I was ever in was one I made called Red Coats and then that didnt last long till I joined up with the great Mad Melons. I know everyones got to remember them. That was fun but with me being so new they eventually kicked me out for no BP and not being large enough. It was around the time they got really serious about how they appeared I think...A lot of players got kicked out and I snatched them all up and grouped them into an alliance i made called "The Jokers".

Great great group of players and a lot of heart. Even though we were so spread out we still struggled to hang on together till I eventually saw that even heart cant keep a city...lol. We joined up with Irish War Wolves. Everyone should have at least heard of them as well.
Then they started to die due to too many wars/inactivity and so on so thats when a lot of players joined up with OFA.

I think OFA was an epic alliance since they stayed strong for so long under the guidance of...I believe his name is spelled Khite Zhu? He was a really good leader but once he dropped Epsilon/grepolis the alliance turned to dirt. Leaders turning on leaders. Leaders getting kicked and just chaos and then everyone fell out. Two alliances were made from that but lets see if anyone can remember what happened from that...lol
I joined up with Yo Serious after they took about 19 cities from me and the disbanding of OFA. Bud1, Derek4free, Melissius I have to thank for taking all those cities from me (Best time of fighting ever)...I know im forgetting players that were constantly attacking me but that was quite some time ago.

Anyways the best player i've met on a personal basis would be my bud Richards2. Guys been with me since being kicked together from Mad Melons...lol, If you ever talked to the guy you would think hes kool too. There for you when you need him and a straight up guy as well...

Anyways lets here what you all think or have to say about our great time here in Epsilon.

Also, To all those many players I've met during this time (as there are way too many to name) it was great to know you and I had great fun!
Dom, Lotfi, Bud1, Richards2, DivingDW, Derek4free, Inciatus, Mikepolis, rincewind66, Karl.b, blackmanX, Araluen, Ronnie Mac, mind01....And so many more....(I would name one more guy but Devils would be against his name and we've already had too many threads about those two...lol)

What battle was your favorite or most rememberable?

My most memorable fight was back in CL when we were fighting Aegis and I was on the winning side of the war for once, but then we got our asses kicked due to inactivity and Renegades joining in.

What alliance was the greatest?

Imho it would have to be CL, I had the most fun in CL with helping taking enemy cities and being an aggressive player. Now look what's happened to me, lol.

Whats the worst battle?

Worst battle has got to be the current one against SE. I understand that 2.0 has gotten rid of a lot of players and people have gone inactive. But I never get attacked, makes me sad to see a once great alliance to be this low :(

Who has been the worst player?

Giokok has to be the worst player that has actually fought me. He was 3x my size and had 15+ failed CS's on me. I decided to show him how to time properly through example, I took his city and the next day he went inactive :D

Mention to all the great people I've come across and have gotten to know a bit (no order):
timmyk, Diane of Simi, isajooon, Eurybatus, Sparkz104, Gwareus, Xandorin, Dragonlord31, Shino-x, MoanerLisa, Alterra, Daveio, Trajana. Many of these players have quit now :(

What battle was your favorite or most rememberable?

being hunted by some swarmers when i had 15 cities and they had more than 100 in total...survived though with some luck and a friend of mine those days picked me in his crew

What alliance was the greatest?

well,epsilon is a way too big server so i have no clear picture of all the war happeinings that took place at the heat days of eps.also i started epsilon 8 months after its launch(was my 1st server) but 2 months ago jumped to Nu...but for what i have seen happening around me i would surely credit enga and his boyz of tsunami that started war to The Swarm when they had alredy the SE war going on...
so my 2 cents for tsunami;-)

Whats the worst battle?

i believe there was not a very bad battle but the very bad upgrade that made good players delete their accounts..

Who has been the worst player?

Lord Sully,he couldnt get cities of me even if he was double sized and had beein hitting me for 3 days...clearly unaware of what timing meant and what was the use of it..he sent out attacks to all of my cities and the next one was a month later(i could scholl him anytime cause he was in Swarm that days and i couldnt open fire to them as they were controling my and all surounding oceans of mine)

Mention to all the great people I've come across and have gotten to know a bit (no order):
engaboy,lordmaster6969,Rowney,paddywak,JFSKG,Minotaur11,Jamisios,prodigalson

even if i dont play again with them they will be remembered and missed;-)

Nice one derek.

My story is quite long but i'll make it as short as possible.

I started out coming here as a side project to an alliance i led on eta, i named the alliance i set up Retirement home. I set up with a plan to either do really well or get wiped out utterly. A short while in i got bored with that name and changed to Peace Loving Hippies, this got me plenty of noob attention locally, my first 900ish BP were earned by some noob sending an unescorted attack of about 300odd horsemen. He couldn't understand why he didn't earn any bp from the attack lol.

I then noticed a small local alliance called Tarabostes, led by Eufrosina, their profile stated they were just a bunch of noobs looking to learn the game and recruit within a reasonable distance from their core islands. I offered a pact and when it was accepted opened a shared forum with the guides i'd gathered from my extensive time in grepolis. I changed my name to Pirate Nation and began annoying individual players in Pathfinders into attacking me. That alliance grew well and became worthy of note in time. Unfortunately my antics against Pathfinders ended up putting them in trouble when they were discovered to be working with me.

In the end i got pretty fed up and left grepolis almost entirely, a bunch of my cities were taken but thanks to my technique of colonising everywhere i still had some cities to return too.

I came back while Tarabostes were still around and used up my city slots taking new ones in the south and spreading a few through the north to use on raids against nearby Pathfinders. But then i formed an alliance in sigma and ended up spending most of my time there. Until real life took over.

Upon my most recent return i found Eufrosina had quit the game and Tarabostes was no more, the old players from this alliance had mostly joined The SWARM, which kind of annoyed me as they had joined an alliance which was clearly useless.

This time i befriended Do Not Disturb, an alliance made up of the players who had kicked my backside previously. After getting myself prepped up and recruiting some players from Sigma to join me here i began trying to work my way over to ocean 38. Unfortunately my Colonising plan was interrupted by several different alliances testing my patience, first came The SWARM trying to take vengence on me for attacking one of their players :D, with a great deal of help from DND i was able to repulse them. DND then decided these noobs were in the way and declared war opening a massive broadside on the alliance and working alongside several other notables sqiftly left the alliance damn near extinct, though they continue to be a blight on the rankings of epsilon to this day :p

With this alliance out of the way i continued my attempt to move into ocean 38, but then -Black Watch- decided my members were a good target for BP hunting, as i wasn't yet big enough to cause serious damage i tried being diplomatic which fell on death ears. So i took a bunch of cities from inactive SWARM members and began taking my revenge on BW.

Little Bug being the one who attacked my members was the first to feel my Broadside, I took one of his cities with some support from DND but no attacks to assist, DND weren't yet at war and were waiting for the opportune time to attack. After taking 2 cities from LB i was subjected to a week long invasion from BW, every conquest attempt was fought off with the help of DND and i lost 0 cities but gained plenty of DBP.

Finally with TS and BW knocked out of 48 i decided st and SE were my best bet as these two alliances had become MRA's of epic proportions. so while attacking and killing these guys i continued my advance into 38 making some new friends and growing regularly.

This world has been the most fun i've ever had and i'll be very sad should it be deleted, not sure i'll come back to grepo afterwards really, all my good stuff is here haha.

Most memorable battle
Has to be the fighting against Pathfinders in the early days, some very good players faced and some absolutely awful ones too. But it was good fun chatting with the invaders while they sent CS after CS at my cities. I fought off a total of about 15 CS in about 3 days with alot of help from the friends i had made.

What alliance was the greatest?
Do Not Disturb, these guys really knew how to fight and playing alongside them was some of the most fun i've had in grepolis.

Whats the Worst Battle?
has to be the fight against seriously trying, very few attacks sent my way and bairly anything for me to write home about.

Who has been the worst player?
robin of portobello, sent attacks from 60 hours plus most of which turned out to be unescorted attacks. Definitely someone i wish i was closer to, so i could soak up all those lovely BPs i'm sure he'd hand me.

Players of Note
Eufrosina: kept his alliance together during the hardest of times, a good player and a strong leader.
The rawr: kept me interested in world epsilon for some time and a nice guy, even with him being quite deceitful.
beets: saved my backside quite alot in the days of DND.
Xeratria; lovely lady been giving us plenty of help for a long time and still assisting our alliance.
michael frock: great guy good player and worthy of note.
GODRAGE: took the game of defending too a whole new level.
Hoi Polloi: best recruit in epsilon turned out to be a great player and a worthwhile leader.
The Mighty ZEUZ: Completely insane love the banter, and thirst for blood.

I spawned on an Island in O73 next to a guy named AjaxCozmos. I joined an alliance with 5 of my closest buds. When Warriors Elite conquered my 1K city I ran to Babylon. When they declared war on WE I ran to The SWARM. The game got so boring in TS because they had a whole tab for inactives and there were so many inactives to take I got almost 0 ABP. I then joined the A-Team because of this boredom. When I joined my ABP shot up because we had a very low amount of pacts unlike the SWARM's pacts with everyone in our area. We merged with Tsunami and the rest is history. :D

What battle was your favorite or most rememberable?
The war against SE. I haven't been involved in many other wars. D:

What alliance was the greatest?
I would have to say Babylon. The way they stood up to WE was very brave.

Who were the greatest?
Everyone in LoO. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

What players made the most impact during your play?
I have had no friends since the begining. Thus noone impacted me much.

Whats the worst battle?
TS against LoV/LoO. I never even got attacked by them. I don't believe that too many people even did.

Players:I still haz no friends.

I started out in Tarbostes as a N00b and after i had quit and was logging in randomly i happend to get a mail form one of my old friends 'the mighty zeuz" who was quitting and wanted a smaller member of tarbostes to take it over.

I took it without haste and got right into a nice tumble with some BP hunting pathfinders.I soon sorted it out and I am sorry to say looking back tryed to step in for Eufrasia being semi active as founder of Tarabostes...
that didnt work out to well alot of them got mad at me i almost left but then tara merged with Swarm and i almost quit.Swarm was the worst alliance EVER in our neck of the woods (o48) and i decided to leave when i saw "the rawr" and "subhadip" leave from pathfinders and start up Do Not Disturb.My best days in grepo ever were in Do not disturb...

We owned the South-west and if i had my way we would of run over every major alliance in our area but leadership had other ideas.We forst took on the swarm and lost 1 city to them taking over 100 in o48/47.The swarm fell apart in our area some joining SE andothers fleeing to BW...not the smartest idea for them.We went after BW and didn't lose 1 city destroyed them and left the rest for the birds.

after that we had some little scrimmages with smaller alliances and we spent our time eating a few in actives.Then 2.0 came out and epsilon went to the dogs DND went to orthia and orthia went to LOO.I was in LOO for a bit but i almost quit from boredom and went to Pirates of Epsilon to live out epsilon with my friend sculli and the crew.


Most memorable battle:
I tried to take out Soloman23 on my island.he was ranked in the top 50 and i was in the low 300s.I found out when he slept and cleared the city of 900 brims and 300 trans worth of troops.only problem was i didnt ask ym alliance first and they told me i was fryed if i didnt pull ym cs so i did and soloman ravadged me with his LS nukes over the next few days and DnD wouldent ever support me :)

What alliance was the greatest?:

Do Not Disturb!!!
best group of players ever teamwork was superb we were ready for anything and we took on anything in our area!my only wish was that SE was in our area so we could lay some pain on them also :)

Whats the Worst Battle?:

Pirates of epsilon VS -Black Watch-!
for a alliance the size of POE to lay down a beating liek they did on BW was shameful for BW...

lol 1 time he sent 580 brims to try and break a siege on my bud subhadip :)

beets: For a time DnD assigned him to be my "mentor" witch was a fancy name for a babysitter because i was cousing trouble...
Xeratria:just yesterday helped me clear soem citys alweas there to help
GODRAGE:Dont even know if he is still active he was best defender in all of epsilon without a dout!

And i didn't steal it i just happened to send the biremes to defend against those troops we no longer needed, didn't even relise i'd get the BP til you mentioned it hahaha

The best battles where the Pandemic/Renegades war! 2 alliances and both scattered across 1 ocean. Attacks came from everywhere lol. That is 1 war I will not forget to easily.

What alliance was the greatest?
Renegades! They had a great leadership and some of the best players in epsilon.

Who were the greatest?
My first captain Adancr(RIP), Talion(RIP), Xoymaq, DugbarIII, Alex Stott, Joeyw, Die Xerxes, TimmyK, (I cant name an entire alliance lol)

Whats the worst battle?
The battles that got to me when I was unavailable lol. I was busy and they hit me at that 1 time. Lucky break for them I guess.

Who has been the worst player?
The God 1! lol. He thought he was pissing me off by starting new cities on my main island but the idiot only helped me turtle! lol!

Hey guys guys!!

Pick up your pants...Epsilon is far from dead still. LoL. I am not going to post everything that I had as I remember I posted that somewhere else in this forum few months back too...

We are always ready for FUN and whatever coming in our WAY...But I seriously hate when I see players quiting out of boredom. that is one thing I cant tolerate. If you are the leader of your alliance and your alliance players are quiting our of boredom and you cant do anything about that, you are worst.

Well.,All I can say, we can still see some real action on this server, TIME IS STILL THERE....WONDER WHY and HOW???

lol i'm not quitting, losing the odd player but not often right now, trying to keep peoples interest there by giving them a plan for the future :)

PoE isn't going to just disappear, unless they delete the server which would suck hairy monkey.. wel icyber won't let me say the next word :p

Ah the CL war those where the days mass conquering island moving :p

yes then there was the pan days gee they were something I remember the failed attempts on my cities.
I guess the war that stood out the most for me was the war with pathfinders that had its wins and losses on both side too bad at the end I had a lot of work going on could have been epic. learned a lot in that war thanks Timmyk
