Using ipad 2, iOS 6.1.2 Google Chrome Browser
Having opened a building view window it is very slow to close. Expedited by opening settings and local temporary saving and deleting content. There are 4 quest icons active. Since introducing these the selections in the game seem to have slowed considerably.
As above with Safari Browser.
Same problem, but marginally faster.

You can also try going to the map tab in the settings menu to hide the progress bar of farm villages to see if this speeds up the game.

I haven't had to do that before! The game has been slowed down on this browser by something that has been introduced of late .... Probably quests!
