Another question.

Do biremes also kill land units sometimes?

What my friend told me

They will never directly kill land units.. if an attack is only land units, and the only defence is biremes, the biremes will never engage the land units.. this is because naval units and land units are entirely separate for the most part.

However, if there are enough biremes in defence that attacking transports are sunk (either by an overwhelming defence, or when transports are sent unescorted), any land troops that were on the sunken transports will be killed.

So yes, biremes can indirectly kill land units.. but technically, no..

That will be due to shared support BP. When you have support in another city, you will get a share of the BP from any battles that take place there - regardless of whether your units actually take part in the battle.

BP is shared out according to population in the city.. if the defender used militia to defend (or if his wall killed the attackers by itself), they occupy 0 population so your biremes would have been considered as 100% of the population in the city. So the militia/wall would have killed the attackers, but your biremes would have got the BP for them doing so.

1 relatively important question

How does the battle system exactly works?

I have 3 harpies? How many swordsmen will kill 1 harpy?

they have 14 blunt defense and harpy has 266 blunt attack? so

if there are 20 swords = 280 blunt defense = 1 harpy dead 99.9999%?

is that correct

You would need to take into account things like morale, luck, wall bonuses, etc.. but that's pretty much correct, yes. A good way to work it out is to check with the Simulator in-game (found through the Agora). It lets you alter the various battle settings, input unit amounts, and see the results.

as far as i'm aware, i don't think any player has worked out the battle system properly (and shared it). the simulator is a pretty good place to check things out though, as mentioned above.

myths can be added by selecting a god in the sim, or at least they could last time i checked :p

Yup, as Pythagorus mentioned above, you can select a God and that will then allow you to add myth units. There should be a drop-down box in the bottom left with "Select God" or something similar written nearby, if I remember correctly.

Edit: Nevermind, you've already got it. I guess this post is kinda useless now. :p

urgent matters... if you demolish a building for 1 lvl do you get a percantage of resources back for doing that or ONLY free population?

I will not recommend anybody to research cats in their first few cities, just to bomb a level 4 wall its really madness to spend 8 precious research points.
A level 4 wall won't make much losses and whatever you will lost that can be easily replenished as when your troops will return they will return with lots of BPs and resources

BTW Don't attack with birs by the way, they are defensive units
its good for harrassment

You don't get resources back, just the population that was used in construction. Useful for freeing up space for troops once you are satisfied with the construction in your city.

Very true, actually. Early on, people tend to dodge rather than defend properly.. in such cases, catapults can cause a lot of damage to walls - and that can get expensive for the defender.

Those grey dots on grepointel maps represent banned accounts (also?) or only inactives?
