When you close a thread in the alliance forum, does it make it so it can not be viewed/read or does it make it so it can be read but not replied to?

A closed thread can be seen but not replied to 
The only way of making a thread unseen is by either deleting it (you won't be able to see it), or creating a special, hidden section of your forum, where you move the threads you don't want others to see - that way you and your leaders will still be able to see it, but not the other players.
