Answered Do the benefits of "Happiness" & "Contented" combine or "cancel" out?

The thought occurred to me that I might be wasting the use of the "Happiness" spell (50%/4hrs.) , because I also have the "Contented" (75%/7days) one going/running as well.

If one is already present/running, is using another a waste? Do they work in conjunction? Or, do they "cancel" out the other?

They stack together. Since they are both affecting base production, you will have +125% instead of just having the +75% from the contented.
