need to fix city protection to the city cant be affected by any negative spells not any spells.. quite annoying u cant cast call of the ocean or pop growth becuz of cp... shouldn't be that hard to fix it please at-least think about changing it :)

pretty sure that was intentional. the spell blocks out positive spells because otherwise their would be no drawbacks for using it barring a loss of favour.

I'd say City Protection is fine as it is, for a number of reasons:
  • As @1saaa pointed out, it appears to be a game-balancing technique. It forces players to think about whether they'd rather prevent damage, or get positive effects on their city.
  • Population Growth and Call of the Ocean have the same duration as City Protection; if you think you'll want either of these during the City Protection period, just cast it straight before you cast City Protection.
  • City Protection's blocking of positive spells can also be used tactically; I've seen CQ players cast City Protection on their own cities when an enemy CS lands, to prevent the enemy from using troop spells to stack the siege.
