Not sure where I should post this so I'll keep the details sparse here. A player I was talking with yesterday on this world was considering joining our Alliance. Today I seen he had joined another Alliance so I messaged him to say how surprised he'd changed from his old one to this other one when we had an offer on the table so to speak.
Have just heard from him in the last 30 minutes saying he was sorry but someone had hacked into his account and changed it to this other Alliance without his consent. I also believe he left himself vulnerable to an open hack by making his password similar to his account name. Have advised him to change his password immediately to something that could not be guessed so easily.
But am wondering if this hacker is from the Alliance that the city was changed too ? Sure one way to gain extra cities !!
As a cautionary note to everyone keep your passwords to yourself and make sure they are not too easily guessed, use numbers and uppercase and lower case characters or some symbols like £$% as well.
