When the day is done
And I'm done having fun
I'll go out in a flame
And be one with the sun

I just wanted to share this, as my first forums post ever. It was a poem I wrote a couple years ago, but it's meaning seems to expand the more I live my life. Tell me what you think,

thank you

Always silent in the midday heat
the ground is lit with burning peat
men with spears and swords and reins
they fight across the burning plains.

Disclaimer: The Burning Plains where the ground is burning with peat lit by careless Dragon Fire is a mythical location from the book Eldest copyright 2005 by Christopher Paolini

Haiku: Owl

Haiku: Owl

Feathers white as snow,
a shining beak that glistens,
wings spread as he flies.

Soaring through the air,
he dives down quick for the catch,
claws grabbing the rat.

It's the snowy owl.
Amazing, just how it is,
standing tall with pride.

I just made it up now. But I hope you like it. :)

I just made it up now. :( And I have to choose just the right amount of syllables, while making it sound good.

I think it's fine. However, it could use better word choice, yeah. It'll be great after that! :)

This made me think of a great poem about an owl that represents nature. Portrays nature as a two-sided concept, being beautiful, majestic, complex and being sinister, mysterious, and devastating. I guess I can relate this to the reaction I have to my dog (OMG IT'S A DOG!! :) ) and the reaction I imagine I would have if I saw a Tornado heading my way.

Anyways, i'm pretty sure you're literally talking about an owl in your poem. It's decent, but it's pretty cliche, play with the words.
