If people wouldnt keep posting in them, the idea would die on its own :p

No. This idea is horrible. It's like turtling one city to the point where it can't be attacked. Would ruin game balance and would tip the game up side down. Link of Time you need to listen to what others say. Some of us have been playing since the beginning of the game when it first came out in 2010 back in Alpha. These guys have seen a lot more than someone who comes waltzing in and acts like the entire game is on his or her side. Seriously just take in what we're saying.

And don't minus rep without signing it. Of course because you know that it would annoy someone because you know what they are saying is true. Somebody please get rid of this!

Well, I believe the maximum you could get in a city full of chariots would be 2350 (or close to it)

because you need transports and escorts. But yeah, we all agree with your point ;)
Divide it by 4 and you're closer to the actual max amount of chariots..

NO
reasons:
1. you need to feed those troops, and that is what the pop resource is (that's why it increases when you upgrade the farm)
2. the other reasons are stated above this post
3. look at 2

I am going to go ahead and agree with every argument that has been made against this idea. Frankly, the main reason I love Grepolis is because the game takes into consideration the disadvantages that new players have when they come into the game and play against experienced players who have many cities and points. The fact is, experienced players already HAVE many advantages, there is no point in giving them more. By not having your population decrease you are saying that there is no limit to the amount of chariots you can have in your city. My friend, that is the entire purpose of population, to create a limit.

If someone just starts playing Grepolis and they have had no time to build up their city to a decent level or build that many troops, they don't want to be constantly farmed by some large player who has an unending supply of chariots at his demand. And like luke said, there is no point in filling the city with so many chariots that it cannot be attacked, it is like creating an unconquerable city, which isn't fair to players who haven't had as much time.

Now this is something I would listen to.

No, it takes 4 people to man one chariot. A chariot is not one person. When you're training a chariot in our barracks it also takes 4 population.

First of all, no, it takes 2 people and 2 horses to man a chariot , sometimes 2 horses and 1 man lol.

Really I think the population thing is more not the amount of people you have but the amount of people/animals you can feed, like I think Kosta said, I just looked to see if anyone said this lol.

As for the idea, no, no, no, and just to be sure NOOOOOOOOOO! Likes already mentioned alot of times, its unrealistic to have like 10000 chariots. Plus it would be hard for a city to feed that many people/animals.

Mate do you know what century this game is based in! We are talking about an ANCIENT GREEK game. No city then could feed that many people. Now days thanks to technology we can but please stop using references from things that happen in the present.

Actually Sparta may have been able to do it but I doubt it, it would be very hard, it already had put a strain on them to muster 10000 troops to fight the Persian invaders, AND feed them, which was poor feed.

True but that was 10000 troops with 1 man= 1 troop what he is proposing is

4 pop= 1 chariot =unlimited troops.

So he could have 10000 chariots but with 40000 population. See what I'm getting at?

Imagine 10k chariots in one attack or as defense, that would be insane. You would have such a high ratio that you would get one or two losses per sweep.

Hey Guys ~

Doing a quick clean up. Let's keep it on-topic about the idea or I'll go ahead and lock it. Kaa-Peesh?

This is a bad idea unfortunately. If pop was not needed for troop spells then a palyer could potentially have an unlimited amount of troops in his city/ies (has probably been said but I couldn't be bothered to go through all the posts lol). It would make it almost impossible to take a city.
