Tmesis...how is that pronounced?

Now, most of you won't know me, and to the few who do, this is nought but a pointless exercise in knowing.

I have played Grepolis for many a month now, 17 to be precise and I am unpredictably unpredictable. Whatever worlds I have played (most) matter not, seeing as I am very rarely recognised on any of them (all).

My capabilities range from being good at Grepolis, to not being good at Grepolis, but mostly the former.

As for the real me, I have filled my 20 years on the planet with nonsense, learning and making myself stand out. Of my many talents, I can ride a unicycle, I can speak, read and write Latin to a moderate degree (not to mention being able to do the same with English, which is a feat in itself these days) and I am a keen recreational mathematician which is not as boring as it sounds!

Also, I write in purple and I was here first. Get your own colour!

I've personally always pronounced it "Tee-Mee-Sis". I don't care whether that's correct or not though.

A mathematician went insane and believed that he was the differentiation operator. His friends had him placed in a mental hospital until he got better. All day he would go around frightening the other patients by staring at them and saying "I differentiate you!"

One day he met a new patient; and true to form he stared at him andsaid "I differentiate you!", but for once, his victim's expression didn't change. Surprised, the mathematician marshalled his energies, stared fiercely at the new patient and said loudly "I differentiate you!", but still the other man had no reaction. Finally, in frustration, the mathematician screamed out "I DIFFERENTIATE YOU!"
The new patient calmly looked up and said, "You can differentiate me all you like: I'm e to the x."

Two mathematicians are in a bar. The first one says to the second that the average person knows very little about basic mathematics. The second one disagrees, and claims that most people can cope with a reasonable amount of maths.

The first mathematician goes off to the bathroom, and in his absence the second calls over the blonde waitress. He tells her that in a few minutes, after his friend has returned, he will call her over and ask her a question. All she has to do is answer "one third x cubed."

She repeats "one thir -- dex cue"?
He repeats "one third x cubed".
She asks, "one thir dex cuebd?"
"Yes, that's right," he says.
So she agrees, and goes off mumbling to herself, "one thir dex cuebd...".

The first guy returns and the second proposes a bet to prove his point, that most people do know something about basic maths. He says he will ask the blonde waitress an integral, and the first laughingly agrees. The second man calls over the waitress and asks "what is the integral of x squared?".
The waitress says "one third x cubed" and while walking away, turns back and says over her shoulder "plus an arbitrary constant..."
