So, my question is, what happens to troops reinforcing another city, if their city of origin is conquered?

troops disappear.

example:
a player have 100 biremes recruited in city A that are sent as support to city B. meanwhile another player takeover city A, then 100 biremes disappear from B because they don't have a city of origin anymore.
